'Paul's Scarlet Climber' is a vigorous, upright climbing rose with dark green foliage o relatively thornless stems and clusters of semi-double, scarlet-red flowers in summer The cup shaped, blooms of this free-flowering climber are produced in large clusters that won't fade in the sun. The vigorous, long stems of Rose 'Pauls Scarlet' can be trained to clothe walls and pergolas. It is a good climber for covering a sunny house or garden wall HOW TO PLANT: Remove packaging and soak the roots in water for atleast 2 hours before planting. Remove any damaged or broken roots before planting. Plant in good quality compost ensuring the hole is large enough to accommodate the roots without causing damage. Spread the roots evenly and cover with soil. Firm down by lightly treading on the soil, and water in well. It is advisable to add mulch after planting. Keep the plants free from weeds and well-watered, feed with a rose feed in late season. Dead head regularly to encourage new growth. Pruning is essential to the health of the rose and encourages new shoots to grow. The best time to prune roses is early spring before the growth starts. This rose is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.
