Bayou Magic

I really enjoyed this book. It was filled with so much understanding of people. It was about learning, magic, and coming into your own.

This is a beautiful tale that weaves magic into lovely descriptions of the bayou. It touches on themes of slavery and abuse and environmental disaster during a young girl's summer visit with her grandmother. A story told with a loving and hopeful voice.

This was a beautifully written story that my daughters and I loved sharing more than any other. The diverse characters, love and faith was a wonderful example for my daughters, who are 8&9 year old sisters growing up in New Orleans. It is the perfect example of black girl magic as the relatable heroine blended with a realistic setting. While I usually read to them before bedtime, my daughters started picking it up and reading it aloud as I prepared meals; we just loved it!

The book came right on time and in excellent condition. I purchase this book for my 10 year old daughter who loves to read. She didnt seem too interested at first but when she wouldnt eat dinner until she had finished the book the same day, i knew it was a good book. I read it when she was done and i can understand why she was so into it. This book is full of suspense and fun.

My daughter LOVED this book. She read it quickly over the summer between 3rd and 4th grade. I would highly recommend this book to all young readers!

Bayou Magic has some elements of books I liked to read as a young girl. I'm buying a copy for my niece.

It's one of the best books I have ever read. It has so much magic in this story and I love magical books and books that are based off of fantasy. It's by far the one of the greatest books I ever read.

I read this book so that I could prepare to read it w/ my daughter. She will love the presence of mermaids & the magic fireflies.

Got this for a 11 old girl and she absolutely loved the story line and read it in 3 days! I have done research elsewhere about the book prior to purchase and it is defintely a great, exciting book suitable for your girls and will keep them interested.
