As this is a slot loading drive, and those can be expensive, I thought I found a real winner here by getting one for cheap.However, it appears to have some sort of lockout on the device. I tried running it on two computers- an AMD AM1 board through an adapter, Asrock P45 board and Intel 965 board- and depending on the device, it would not boot, detect or post the computer. While it may work fine on a mac, there is a lockout preventing you from using it on a PC. This is odd to me, because while apple may want to prevent other hardware on macs, I don't see the motivation not to allow its use on PCs.
