Very interesting
I love Lauren and her books, but I also enjoyed Sasha the most. I grew up with books in my life, and so far this has been my favorite series from the beginning. I chose the ratings because of the unique way the author interpreted it. Although I have read literature about boarder school, this books actually relates to the ideal picture of a preteens mind of how it would look. And I appreciate the author showing her inner teen coming out in an appropriate way. I enjoyed this fiction book and am sad that it is comingto an end.

HA-MAZING!!! When I finished this book and found out that there wasn't going to be the next book until Early Feburary next year I almost cried! The way Jessica Burkhart writes the whole canterwood crest series is totally amazing with endings that blow you away. I so feel for the main character and what she goes through after I had an accident like hers... Argh why! Why do amazing books have to end so soon and boring books go on for what feels like FOREVER? I have a kindle so threw all my books out APART from the WHOLE Canterwood Crest series!!! Those are a collectors item. If you love horses, gossip, shopping, amazing authors and fashion then this is THE book for you! Please, for horses, (and Jessica, the author) just get this book, I promise you'll love every moment of it! I DARE YOU!

Good series and it takes my daughter longer to read these - whew!
My daughter has "graduated" from Pony Pals and Pony Days, Magic Ponies and Magic Pony, etc, but not yet ready for some of the older series. She is in 4th grade and around an RL 5.6, so we wanted more challenging but not grown up. The manager at Barnes and Noble recommended Book 1 to her and she read it and was hooked, so we got the rest of the series for her for Christmas. She is on book 5 and I imagine, since it a new series, that the books will retain resell value, although she plans to keep this series to re-read again whenever she wants to. The nice and not-so-nice thing about this series is that it does deal with real life bullying, mean girl and social issues, which is a big step from the fluffier children's pony books of 1st-3rd grade that she was reading, but since she has had to deal with some issues at riding school, she likes to bury herself in these books as a way to unwind. I like that she talks to me about what is happening in the books.

A Great Series for Tween Girls - Even If Not Horse Fanatics!
My 12-year-old daughter loves this book series. She's not even a horse fanatic! The plots, the characters... really appeal to her. She is an advanced reader and often chooses much more difficult reading materials. That's not to say these are too easy. They are just a fun, not overly demanding read for her. She specifically asked for books from this series for Christmas. For some reason, our library has some of the books but is hit and miss and have left holes in their collection. I would definitely recommend this series for tween girls.

Canterwood Crest Masquerade
This was an amazing book! Defiantly a perfect book for any day. I defiantly love this book and the series before it. I gave it this rating because Jessica Burkhart never ceases to amaze me with her wonderful and creative writing of a girl's typical life and her struggles, and wonderful joys in life. I would defiantly suggest this,!

Great........in a way..............
This book series is one of my faves!!! I read it all the time, and it never fails to keep me on the tips of my toes. I know this is extremely cheesy, but sometimes I like to pretend that I am a student at CCA. Whenver Lauren goes through drama, it reminds me of past friendships and relationships. I do agree though that these girls are WAAAY too mature for their age. I mean, having a PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP ARTIST come and work on your face???? At twelve and thirteen?? I am a twelve year old girl and I don't even wear makeup! Also, the designer clothes are kind of ridic. Like when Khloe walks in on the first day wearing gucci sunglasses! I'm just fine living off of Target and Old Navy. What I think these girls need is to spend time being a kid and not acting like they're twenty five. Anyway, JB is a great author and often has me screaming in my pillow after big cliff hangers!

Great series
My daughter just loves this series. She is upset she is on the last one. Good for any teenage / preteen horse loving girl! She wishes this place actually exists. Purchase this series for your daughter and let her imagination go wild!

A review by proxy...
...the reason being, I haven't read it. It was bought for my 9 year old daughter - who will gladly read anything that contains a sniff of something horsey. Now, she says it was "a good book and she enjoyed it". When I tried to draw her on the characters, the plot and description...she said it was "a good book and she enjoyed it - and what did I mean by those other things".So...i'm going to give this an I-like-it four stars on the basis that a) she read it from cover to cover and b) it kept her quiet for approximately 4 hours. I'm of the opinion that any reading at her age is good and she's going through all of these with gusto. On the face of it - me telling you it's a good book based on her feedback is just as subjective as me telling you it's a good book based on my feedback....so you're always going to be taking a bit of a risk!
