Just as described. Works great! Has held up really well

At first bought it for project, now using it to melt my silver scrap into lumps for re-rolling or more convenient storage for mailing back to refiner. The melted borax will make "ting!" sounds as it cools, don't worry that's not the crucible cracking.

If I'm doing a small handheld melt this is The crucible I use. I have only had to buy a handful of these in the last year and a half and i melt every day. If I'm not using my propane furnace then this is the crucible I use. But I'm sure this would work fine in a furnace as well

The crucible came chipped in at least three places. So when I accidentally knocked it off a 3.5 foot countertop onto a concrete floor, I thought that was the end of it. But the fall did nothing at all to it. Which makes me wonder, how much abuse did this crucible take before it got to me? Prior to dropping it, I had it at around 2,000 F then sprayed water on it, which didn't seem to harm it either.

Using this to process scrap silver. So far, it’s good. Accepted a borax glaze without a problem.
