2 pcs BBQ Grill Temperature Gauge, Charcoal Pit Grill Smoker Thermometer Gauge BBQ Temp Gauge

Bought an offset smoker that didn't have a temp gauge. These were cheap, so I wasn't expecting much. I drilled holes and attached these to both ends of the chamber. They seem to work really well. I did notice when I smoke something on a rainy day, they fog up a bit, but that went away after a little bit. For the price, you can't go wrong.

It worked great on my smoker, not so much for my Akorn grill. I don't know why they show the thermometer mounted on an Akorn, unless it's a mini, because the threaded shaft does not protrude through the lid enough to secure the thermometer with the wing nut.

I ordered the 2 pcs BBQ Grill Temperature Gauge to put in the lid of my kettle BBQ pit/smoker. I drilled a hole and installed the gauge in two minutes.I cooked some sausage and a few burgers last night and it worked great. I mounted it near the air vent at the top of the lid and was able to check temp through the vent at the same location with an instant read thermometer and the temp readings were within a degree or two.There is no way you are ever going to mount a temp gauge in the right place to give you the exact temp everywhere on your grill. What this little thermometer will do is consistently tell you what temperature is at the top grill vent that you can use as a reference point. Higher temp, hotter grill, lower temp, not as hot. After using your grill and finding where the warm, hot, hotter, and hottest spots are on your grill you can work on food placement and rotation as you cook. Then this little gauge will help you control your temperature, higher for burgers and dogs, or lower for smoking. With a little practice you can get consistent results.I think this thermometer is a great buy, and you have a spare. It is plenty big enough to reference from several feet away. I would order the same thing if I need another one.

I don't know why the thermometers go out so fast on my grills and smokers. but it's good to know I can get replacement ones easily on Amazon

This thermometer is very easy to install. The accuracy of the temperature reading is sufficient for everyday needs. A great addition to a gas grill that didn't originally have a thermometer. Satisfaction and a little joy for anyone who likes to grill. Of course, it can also be used for a hundred other purposes, such as measuring the temperature of chimney gases and the like.
