The first real pigeons book.
This is the 1st title in a bestselling children's books series, soon to be hitting screens everywhere as an animated film and TV show.My grandson loves the Dav Pilkey books of dog man and cat kid, so I know he’s going to love this series by Andrew McDonald, as it’s in the same format of a black and white comic strip. The book is a soft back A5 size with 224 pages, with easy to read text. The book has 3 chapters, perfect for children who find it difficult to read large amounts of text. I’ve always believed, it doesn’t matter what children read, as long as they are reading. This type of book is perfect for my grandson, as he falls under the autism spectrum and finds it difficult to read pages of text, he can cope with this sort of book, so much so, that he now draws and writes his own cartoon stories. The story follows a group of pigeons protecting their city from criminals, and the first book discovers why have all the breadcrumbs disappeared? Who on earth is kidnapping bats? Can the pigeons avert a dinner disaster?I’m happy to recommend.

Well written 😁
Bought for my son who loves pigeons, it's got him back into reading again instead of being sat in front of a computer constantly. He's really enjoyed reading it and can't wait for the next ones.

Both the 7 and the 9 year old love all the Real Pidgeon books. They are amazing!!
Easy to read but with incredible wit. Enjoyed by old and young.

As much a comic as a book
The book consists of 3 short stories which are based around some comical Pigeons. The book is heavily illustrated and closer to a comic so suits an early reader, as its not a story you as an adult could read to a child given lots of the text is linked to the drawings. The book has some silly humour throughout and reads like a comic with a lot of emphasis on the drawings and the beady eyed birds have that comedy look. My son likes the Wimpy kids books, and said he found them funnier than this book, I expect because the humour is more relatable.
