Keeping anything left in the tube free from air. They are well sized and easy to use. Home owners and handyman people will get a lot of use out of these. It is really satisfying to know you are not going to waste the remainder of the tube by letting it dry up. The red color makes the partly open caulk tube stand out if you have a few on the shelf. I have reused these. You will not always be able to but maybe 60% of the time you can. It really depends on what the material is and how well you roll it up when you remove it. 100 will last years depending on how much caulking you do. A god buy.

I recently used these on a tube of silicone caulking which I opened and use about 1/4 of it. used these to seal and about 3-4 months later, needed to use again. It was starting to dry at the very tip, but I was able to just push that small amount out and discard and go on and use another 1/4 of the tube. Beat having to cut the entire nozzle off to try and get to some usable caulking. Might not work for storing used caulking for years or a year, but so far I like these.

I would give these 10 stars if I could!! I saw a video on TV where a guy was caulking and he had these. No more dried out caulk/glue. They are so easy to use. If they get caulk on them it comes right off whe dry!! If you are caulking a lot, give these a try. It is an easy way to keep your caulk tube's clean and ready to use. They are reusable so you don't just use them once but over and over again.

Always annoyed at how caulk, not fully used up from a tube, can't be used later. Too much of it cures in the tube or in the exit's narrower tube. Youtube vid examined fixes. Best was quoted to be these little things that fit over the tip and scroll down a few inches to maximize seal.I used some caulk. Sealed it up for a week or two, and returned to it. I confirm the youtube vid. These things are the best solution to half used caulk tubes.
