These really work!
My mother always used the off white tailor chalk shaped like a shell. I wanted something more accessible so I went for these pencils. They sharpen in a normal pencil sharpener and don’t leave smudgy residue on my work. Highly recommend.

Would just use tailors chalk next time.
Not easy to get a point when you get down to the paper. No instructions on how to get a point. Chalk pencil nib doesn't last long until you have to make another point.

This is not chalk for dressmaking
These are china markers, not anything like dressmakers chalk. They are made from plastic not chalk.I will use them but in art not sewing.Product description is wrong, it says china marker on the box at the other end of photo, the bit you cannot see.Another con from Amazon!

Really easy to work with and very easy to peel when it runs down, meaning no nd for sharpening
