Terrible Amazon Resolution to Unacceptable Delivery (Zero stars for level of service)
Excerpt of Amazon chat.Me:...If you check this is not the 1st time your company sent items I ordered thru them but in the past despite all the items coming late I refrained from giving a lousy review to your site as I understood that the delivery ppl were trying to do their job and it was not easy for them. But this is ridiculous!Amazon:I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Just to confirm, may I know the name of the item you're referring to, please?Me:I want solution. I do not want to be inconvenienced out of what I expect to be a normal level of service by your company. I do not think I am wrong to think highly of your company but this really tarnishes your reputation! The 2nd shipment was v good in contrast. Usually I do not review unless I get impressive service or unacceptable service like in this case!Amazon:I'll escalate this to our carrier team to take right action to fix this. I can make sure that it won't repeat in future. In this case, I"ll issue a full refund for two items and you need not not return it, once you receive it....Me:...So how do I get a refund for the items? Also I heard from my frens that amazon is giving out coupons to customers affected by the delay?...Amazon:In this case, I'll issue a promotional credit of $10 to your account. It'll be automatically applied to the items which are shipped and sold by Amazon.Me:Your company should charge them for the cost of the items! As I initially wanted the items to be given as Christmas presents. And as you know I was already sad that it missed the 23rd dec est. by a fair margin. but to get so angry becos I was actually there. So can I confirm that the price of the items will be refunded to me and that $10 extra dollars will be also credited to my acct? Understand it was US$29??I hope your company does not practice differentiation of customers???Your company is not the only online company that I order from. You must understand I am extremely unhappy that I had to bring this issue to you after trying unsuccessfully trying to resolve it with your partner company!Amazon:We'll accept comments from every customer and improve our service.Me:So Hareesh let me summarise. The cost of the shipment 1 will be refunded to me and the delivery will be made by tomorrow. Further to the delay of shipments it is US$10 or US$29?Amazon:I'll issue the $10 promo to you right away. I'll make a note on your account that if you do not locate your package tomorrow, please let us know. We'll issue refund for that package.Me:So I can expect delivery tomorrow as well as refund? Also why is it only US$10 and not 29?Amazon:To make up the inconvenience for the delay of shipment, I'll issue the $10 to your account. Please accept this as a token of apology and gesture of goodwill.Me:Earlier you said that there will be a refund of the items and that you will get them to do a delivery by tomorrow. That is why I felt that you are sincere about righting the wrong.Further I did not think that if your company is giving customers $29 gift card and announcing it to the world and actually the truth is not the same?Amazon:I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I mean to say that I'll issue the refund if you do not receive the item by tomorrow.Me:I do not think my english so poor! This is ridiculous! You did! I am shocked that your company is so unethical!Scroll up and see for yourself. It is precisely because you said that that I felt your company is sincere. Do you really think your customer is hard up over your refunds!!??>Stop wasting my time! If this is how you decide to right your wrongs I think you just did worsen my opinion of this order and company!!----End of chat----As you can tell I am made angry by the way the customer service tries to resolve the issue. I can understand that Amazon is trying to do business and I do not intend to deny them of their profits but this is in my opinion unethical. I expect that it there were no problems of course I do not mind paying the price that was agreed upon but in this shipment there was significant cost to my time and emotions. Surely no customer would want this for themselves. So Amazon wants to save themselves less than $50 and choose to make me remember how unprofessional they were in resolving this issue? Gd luck to you.

Second Broken one
I have purchased a total of 3 of these. 2 out of 3 are broken. Love the white and clear look of these and while it works it works great. Each have broken in less than 2 years. The last one lasted 18 months. The internal pieces just fall apart. It’s really awesome when it breaks and dumps salt rocks in the expensive meal you just prepared to where it’s not edible. Than you have to come up with a spontaneous meal to feed your family. I think it’s time to give another brand a chance.

Loved these for years but each one dies younger
Edited again to add: Sadly the latest one just died after just 9 months. Again the plastic guts were too weak for their job. We will be switching to a different brand. It may just be random chance but I suspect the quality is decreasing.Edited to add: My second one has failed after about 6y which is great for the price! But it is a shame that an otherwise sturdy product has fragile parts that make it disposable. I would rather pay way more and have it last forever than have to keep tossing these in the landfill. Mine cracked in exactly the same way as you see in the top rated review. No weird user error, it was just fine one day then got a bit weird then totally stopped working, and when I went to check if it needed cleaning or something, I saw the broken part.I broke our first one, after 2-3yrs, by taking it apart at the wrong joint. All you have to remember is that the whole plastic part unscrews from the glass part. But somehow I forgot and wrestled the plastic piece apart, cracking part of it.I was confusing this with a coffee grinder I bought at the same time and was thinking it cost $60, & even at that I was likely going to buy another. I was very happy when I came on here and saw it's really just $20!! I honestly believed it was a $60 device so that tells you how much we like it. We like pepper on everything and we like it FINE, like almost the texture of flour, and unlike other mills we had in the past, the Kyocera has the ability to grind very finely. I have mild tendonitis and the action of using this mill does not make my hands sore or tired at all even when I grind quite a lot like for a big batch of soup. I tried using it for flax but the stickiness of the oils made it too hard for me to turn with my bad hands. Cleaning it to switch products was also a pain- it has to sit out for a couple days to totally dry if you wash it! If you have strong, healthy hands and like to put flax on your breakfast daily, I would recommend getting one for flax and one for pepper. I also tried it on sea salt and that works fine but since salt doesn't go bad I think it's unnecessary to have it in a mill I just buy fineground. I tried using it to pulverize a mix of dry herbs to go on popcorn, and it was super frustrating. It's gravity fed so light material doesn't get drawn down into the burrs. Basically, it's awesome for dry stuff like pepper and tolerable for sticky stuff like flax. Much more attractive to my eye than the typical big oak post style ones too (I find them really ugly!). When this one dies I will definitely buy again.

Strong sense of quality, nice size. I ordered the white, but I use it for pepper (sue me).
I really like this grinder, after using the cheap plastic ones that come pre-filled with pepper, this is so much nicer to use. The lid is slightly fussy, but it means less pepper crumbs on the counter, and no dust falling into the chamber when you're not using it. Would be a shame to loose the lid. Overall I've only used it for pepper, but it works great. I also notice the chamber for the spice is not back filling with half cracked peppercorns like I saw on my cheap plastic grinder. Kinda neat that it's made by Kyocera too, I remember their mobile-phones from my youth.

This is a GREAT little grinder.
I was so impressed with this grinder for my moist sea salt that I bought one for my father to solve his endless frustrations with the older-style steel pepper grinders. To my delight, he loved it so much he asked for another one for his salt! The ceramic grinders really are fantastic; they seem to work beautifully for just about anything, and they don't suffer the corrosion issues from salt... or even from living by the ocean where the humid salty air can also rust and jam up the works. Plus this model is smart looking, reasonably priced, glass (not plastic!), steady and well-balanced, easy to grind even for older arthritic hands... and it has the nice little cap to keep cooking humidity out of the gears. Oh--and it stores upright, so you don't get that little ring of salt/pepper/spice left on your counter. I'm a big fan of this model.

FLEXIBILITY
We were looking for a product that was extremely flexible. We prefer all our seeds and spices to be freshly ground just prior to use. Until now, we have never had a product that would successfully handle the largest to smallest sizes. The Kyocera is, as it's name suggests, the EVERYTHING MILL.
