can this be used on my kitchen stove top's cast iron grates?

Rutlands Black Stove Polish can be applied to all non food surfaces of cast iron. Apply & wipe for a smooth finish. I would recommend initial burning/ curing & exhausting of heating vapors.

You won't even need an entire tube, maybe half. Put on a very thin layer. Sometimes we use the rag we previously used to polish our stove again several months later. No, or very little, extra product required. Be sure to wear gloves.

It appears Rutlands makes Williams stove polish. Are these two products the same thing under different names?

While Rutland does indeed make both this polish and the William's Stove Polish, they are different products. This is a black polish while Williams Stove Polish is a dark gray.

Can this be used on the thimble and stove pipe?

Correct! You are able to use the Stove Polish Paste on a thimble and stove pipe.

Excellent product to pay attention to the size of the tube
