18 Month Update: REMOVE AND WIPE-DOWN PRODUCT AFTER EVERY USE???
UPDATE... 07/06/2025:I just added another star (from 4 to 5 stars)... because as ridiculous as wiping-down this item (after every use) is crazy!I have never done it and the device is still working well. It's a little slower flow, but I think that is because my batteries are starting to fade.No leaks, no problems, EXCEPT the line (and suction-end) that goes inside the gas can be a bit difficult to get in and out of the gas can opening. It's almost like trying to squeeze (or pull) a 2.50 inch microphone through a 2.48 inch opening. So you will get gas on your hands every time you refill the gas can. It's not horrific unless you drive a really nice car, and use your gasoline soaked hands to drive your gas back home.One important thing to remember (after you are done using it)... is to LET OFF THE PUMP HANDLE/TRIGGER, TURN OFF THE POWER BUTTON... and then carefully hold the gas pump handle up and above the gas can while holding the pump handle lever in. Don't worry, (NO GAS WILL PUMP-OUT) BECAUSE YOU JUST TURNED OFF THE PUMP'S POWER. This returns the unused gas left inside the hose back into the gas can.IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS... gasoline pressure can build-up (especially in summer heat with fresh gas). If you fail to do this, you will eventually notice the strong smell of gasoline around the location where you store your gas can.That's not a huge problem if you like the smell of gasoline, UNLESS you store it in an unventilated area near a water heater pilot light, or some other sparks or flames are nearby.__________________________________________________________________________PREVIOUS PRODUCT REVIEW BELOW:I HAVE NOT (and will not) REMOVE & WIPE DOWN THE PRODUCT AFTER EVERY USE, but it's still working well, SO I ADDED A STAR. I'll try to update again after one year of use.This pump is a great idea and seems to work well, BUT I CANNOT BELIEVE they expect me to remove the device and wipe it down with a cloth AFTER EVERY USE. This sounds dangerous because you will obviously have gasoline on your hands, as well as gas vapors, and a gasoline soaked cloth to store or dispose of. Hopefully nothing sparks and you don't have any gas appliances in your garage, because a pilot light can ignite gas fumes or vapors.I sent the company an email to confirm "remove after each use" was what they are asking customers to do. They replied back quickly (which I appreciate) and said "we don't recommend leaving the pump in contact with gasoline due to the fumes possibly eating up the hose" and THAT they would get with their team to make sure the Amazon description states this in the future.I then suggested they just make all of the plastic parts from High-density polyethylene (HDPE) which is what plastic gas cans are made of... it makes sense to me anyway.Again, I really like this product (so far), but not-so-much if I have to come into contact with gasoline every time I use it. If that's the case, then it's probably not for me; because that gasoline smell stays on your hands quite a while, even after washing them several times with soap.

Great little pump.
I really like this pump. It’s simpler to use. The flexible in tank hose is nice. I had a pump with the non flexible tube and did not like it. The squeeze handle works like a charm and you do not have to worry about liquid instantly flowing when the pump is turned on. Flow is well controlled with the squeeze handle. Well worth the price in my opinion. No leaks are noted. The in tank tubing is long enough to fit all my fuel cans i have in my garage. It looks and feels durable and well made. I looked at a lot of liquid pumps before I chose this one and i am happy with my choice.

Well made and great design!
I Did a lot of research before purchasing this fuel transfer pump. I came to the conclusion that not all transfer pumps are created equal and this one was by far the best. The most important thing I liked about this pump is the slide switch for off and on versus the push button type. The length of the discharge hose was perfect at around 4 ft. After putting it through the paces pumping multiple 5 gallon cans of diesel fuel it worked flawlessly. No leaks and it pumped fuel much quicker than I anticipated. I'll probably purchase another one just to have for the future since many times when I find something that really works well It can be hard to find the exact same model after a couple of years.

Convenient, Durable & Functional
I like this product for it's intended use as a fuel transfer pump (5 gallons of gasoline to truck).I appreciate the ability to use 4AAs batteries for a fast flow, or just 2AAs in a pinch (slower flow rate). The included adapter(s) make securing the pump to a threaded gas can simple.It does store a trivial amount of gas, so plan ahead when pumping to allow for the remainder to flow out. I personally DO NOT keep the pump stored in/on the gas can, but I DO remove the batteries after each use.The pump head does require a little force to insert/remove, therefore transferring fuel onto my hands (old rags or gloves help). That is the reason for only 4 stars.I would recommend this product to anyone who could benefit from it's intended use.

Excellent product
Great idea!I bought this almost five months ago and chose to wait until I had used it long enough before offering my opinion. This works exactly as described. I have back issues, am old and lifting and holding a five gallon container full of gas was pure agony. I bought a ten dollar 12 x 18 flat dolly, set my gas can on it and when I move it mower to mower, I grab the gas can spout and pull it around. Zero lifting. I store my pump in a large plastic bag to keep it dust free.Well worth the money and if I had it to do over I’d have bought it sooner.

Great alternative to filling from a can
Works surprisingly well. I don’t have to pour from the can, then look, then pour again, then look… i’m sure you know the routine. Flow rate is good, and the handle controls the flow very well. I also plan to use it to drain tanks for long-term storage. Only suggestions would be a bit more substantial hose, and include a cap for the nozzle to keep dust out while it’s stored. Can’t speak to durability since I just got it.

leaks:::::: updated today
all the adapters that come with this so you can use it on your gas can leak. For what this thing costs they should have included o-rings in the adapters. Just what you need a leaky gas can. I also think there is a vent in the motor housing that leaks also if you tilit your can if it`s full.Update:::: the second time I tryied to use it it would not work took the motor out of the gas can (spilling gas everywhere) and beat the motor on the side of the gas can and the motor started worked for that fill (5 gallons) went to use it again and motor would not turn with new batteries. JUnk, you can make things only so cheap before it doesn`t work and this is a good example.Called Amazon and complained, they said to send it back but wait it`s got gas in it UPS will not ship anything that has had gas in it period no exceptions. So Amazon stepped up and said through it in the trash and hears your money back. Now a happy camper. But the pump is still junk.

This thing is really good!
Excellent suction, multiple adaptable tops. Works on all my can and automobile except those with filters at the entry. It is fast and easy to operate. Only spillage is when removing it, have to shake a bit and put in a pan or bucket to dry off. I have been looking for one this good for many years. This is my third one or more, the others I threw away or gave away as they were useless.

Bon produit bien que de conception délicate.Semble plutôt fragile

Ok but be prepared to deal with fuel on your hands
It does the job but it’s also a mess to deal with gas leaking after you take the hose out as it states not to leave it in the tank. Also if you want to change up to diesel or vice versa, then you have to deal with the separate gas/fuel.Would I buy it again, no. The only advantage is not having to lift a heavy gas can in to my side by side or tractor. But I’m already leaning to going back to that as it’s not really the hassle…
