i do not believe this will fit that vehicle

Large base: c-c 3 11/16 x 2 1/16 inches

Q: l have a 1978 El Camino with a 305 and it has a 2-barrel in it now. Will this fit?

It should fit, however check to see if you have an electronic or vacuum choke. The one I am seeing in this e-mail is a vacuum type choke carb.
