Weeds: The Complete Collection [DVD]

This is one of the best deals on a TV series I've seen. Not only do you get all 8 seasons with all the extras, you also get an Ultraviolet copy that if purchased separately would actually cost MORE than this set does. Significantly more. All in all, this is a fantastic value, and not a bad show piece. Many people have mentioned this, but the packaging is a bit...odd. The outer case is a transparent green plastic that's been glued together. The plastic itself is okay, but I have concerns about the glued pieces. I feel like a normal cardboard cover would handle a drop better than this would. Obviously the plan is to never drop it or allow it to fall, but I feel like it's worth mentioning. In a similar vein, the plastic container doesn't grip the inner case at all, where a cardboard one does, and allows it to slide out slowly. Even tipping it the wrong way could cause it to fall out too quickly and be damaged. As for the inner case, it protects the discs very well, assuming you never ever use them. It grips them in such a way that you have to grab the discs from both sides and in pulling out the discs begin a scratching process that only gets better(worse) over time. I would recommend relying heavily on the digital copy for regular viewing, and only using the discs for the special features. Still, it's a good deal and a decent show piece. It just happens to be poorly designed.

Enjoyable show easy to watch all seasons. It is a nice box set.

All the past reviews I've seen concerning the packaging of this dvd set, made it seem very difficult to get any of the dvd's out of the slots. Well, it looks like the packaging has been altered because of all the complaints. Instead of there being 2 discs in each slot, which would make very hard to get the discs out without either scratching them or cracking them, the packaging company set it up so there are 17 slots for each of the 17 dvd's. They are still a bit tough to remove, but I put on a rubber glove and was able to slide each of the discs out fairly well. Now, instead of having to put each disc back in it's slot, which is still a tight fit, I just put each of the 17 dvd's into 17 separate plastic dvd holders and numbered each of the holders with the season. If anyone wants to use this suggestion when buying the complete collection of "Weeds", this might help them a lot. A magnificent series from beginning to end!!!!

This is one of the best shows ever made. They crammed all of season one on one disk and it looks really low quality. Amazon sent it in a paper bag and the case got completely destroyed and Amazon help said they would give me $10 back but seems to have lied.

Boxset Review: The discs are held extremely tight in the packaging, but they are not impossible to take out as some others have stated. You just have to use a cloth and gently tug at them to get them out. It might take a few days and you'll most likely get a little frustrated, but eventually they will get easier to get out. I am in love with this boxset. It is just adorable to flip through the pages like a scrapbook/photo album. I saw one review talking about having to cut out the disks, but I can't imagine doing so with how nice it looks. It came in perfect condition. The disks look really nice; I didn't notice any scratches. I love that I have both a physical and digital copy. Series Review: I love Weeds and have rewatched it so many times. Season 1-3 are really great, but 4-8 start getting a little...silly. Showtime has a habit of milking their popular series for 8 seasons and the decline usually starts around season 4-5. Dexter would be a prime example of that. But unlike Dexter, despite the decline in believable storylines and rise of glaring plotholes, Weeds just goes full out with its ridiculousness and remains a hilarious series from start to finish.

Weeds is a series that is the perfect blend of comedy, drama, and social commentary. Each episode is better than the last. Everything in weeds holds together. The magic in weeds comes from its ability to make the ridiculously unbelievable to ridiculously believable. It's been a long time since i've seen a TV show air with this level of quality in both script and production values. There is an all star cast from Mary-Louise parker to Liz Perkins and Kevin Nealon, which yields superb acting. The editing is also top notch. God, I love that introduction, genius. Just remember that soon you'll have this show stuck in your head. I know I do. ....little boxes, little boxes, made of ticky tacky little boxes.... Suburbia will never be the same.

Several years ago I rented this video. Every time video stopped you had to start from the beginning & forward & locate number of section. This has not been resolved. Very annoying. Still. Great movie, funny, good actors, etc.

This is hands down, the Best Series Showtime has ever produced. And Mary-Louise Parker just tore the lead role up. I would always think of Fried Green Tomatoes when I saw her in something because her acting was so phenomenal in that movie. However, with WEEDS I believe she has totally outdone herself and I could never see anyone else playing that role. If you haven't seen this year is yet watch the first 5 episodes Season 1 and you will be addicted. As far as the box that goes it is a lovely way to buy them all at once as a collector's item to enjoy. The cost of the Blu-ray box set is definitely worth the price as you will probably spend more on buying two tanks of gas for your car.

I’m a big fan of this tv show! It was removed from Netflix in my country so I decided to buy this box and I really like it! It so cool! If you are a fan like me I’m sure you’re gonna love it!

i never once saw this show until i ordered it and it is by far one of the best shows i've watched so far. it comes in a nice little case that has all of the disks inside. (kind of tricky to get out at first and the disks get a little dirty from pulling them out) but in all, good product. great price.

Plastic case is garbage.......it is not green. The discs are crammed in a horrendous stacked manner. Very difficult to remove. I think the green case had pictures etc. None of that in the sub standard clear case. It arrived with the disc's unseated and rattling around......scratched to hell.

La serie es excelente y venía muy bien protegida en cajas para que no se maltratara, el estuche esta de lujo, muy brillante la caja verde de plástico que protege el libro tipo álbum donde vienen los discos, aunque es difícil sacar los discos de su lugar, el diseño esta genial. Cómprala antes que suba de precio.

Sat in my cart forever. Favourite show ever but couldn’t reason. Bought it and will never regret it. So happy.
