I'm wanting a large outdoor chalkboard for the backyard.** A: We used this paint on large wooden Christmas trees (we used the green chalkboard paint) where we wanted to change the message frequently. They have been outside in all kinds of weather - snow, rain, ice, sun for approximately 6 weeks for the past 3 years (during the Christmas season). No sign of having to repaint. **Q: Can we use chalk marker pens on this as opposed to chalk itself?** A: Just found a work-around! You can use a sealer to make a porous chalkboard non-porous (or to lock in a sign that you don't want to change). I found this info on the Crafty Crock (who sells the liquid markers, so it makes sense that they'd have solutions. Here's what they say:"In either case, we recommend using either In either case, we recommend using either Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray or if you prefer a matte finish, then Aleene's Spray Acrylic Sealer Matte Finish will work well. Apply 3 coats of sealer if you are sealing a porous surface so that you can easily erase your chalk markers in the future. A single coat should do if you are sealing over top of your chalk markers so they can't be erased. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions on the spray can. or if you prefer a matte finish, then Aleene's Spray Acrylic Sealer Matte Finish will work well. I'm wanting to paint a Tikes playhouse (interior).** A: I have actually on a plastic kitchen set (smooth) and an activity table (texture) with two coats everything has held up no problem. This is about a year since I applied it. **Q: I have a small hobby paint sprayer. Is there any reason this couldn't be used in a sprayer? Is it too thick, or is the brush an important part?** A: We used it with a paint sprayer. If you use a brush, use a good brush as you don't want brush marks. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As described *by on Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates 27 June 2026* Good coverage works ### ⭐ Its reached spilled and broken *by on Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates 16 February 2024* I bought two at the same tome and both came in spillied and broken ### ⭐ Product arrived opened *by on Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates 29 August 2023* Product arrived with open lid and dropped everywhere ## Frequently Bought Together - Rust-Oleum 301450 Specialty Chalkboard Brush-On Paint, 30 fl oz, Flat Black - Liquid Chalk Markers for Blackboards - Bold Color Dry Erase Marker - Chalk Markers for Chalkboard Signs, Windows, Blackboard, Glass - 6mm Reversible Tip (8 Pack) - 24 Chalkboard Labels Included - Loddie Doddie Liquid Chalk Markers (24-Pack) - Dust-Free Erasable Pens for Windows, Glass, Chalkboard & Blackboard - 6mm Reversible Bullet & Chisel Tip --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ph/products/285116343-rustoleum-206540-chalk-board-paint-black-887-ml-item-packing](https://www.desertcart.ph/products/285116343-rustoleum-206540-chalk-board-paint-black-887-ml-item-packing) --- *Product available on Desertcart Philippines* *Store origin: PH* *Last updated: 2026-11-08*
