I love my new portable fridge. No more food swimming in ice water. The fridge is very efficient and quiet. I hooked it up to a small 500Wh portable power station and it maybe used 20% in 24 hours. Since we use the power station to charge our electronic devices, we slept near the fridge and didn't hear a thing. Understanding that all compressor-based refrigerators will cycle between on and off set points, I was impressed at how well it held a temperature. I did notice that it held the temperature about 6 degrees above the displayed set point. Not a big deal but something to note. For my conditions, I found setting it at 30 or 32 degrees F kept my beverages at a nice 38F. I did have a small concern when the unit arrived. The ICECO team quick respond to my inquiry and promptly answered my concern. I was impressed with the great customer service. Very happy with my purchase.

“Ordered back in June ran constantly on AC voltage for about 3 months no issues keeps everything spot on for temps selected, one afternoon I came in and noticed it wasn’t on. Checked it over and found that it still worked in DC mode. Contacted the manufacturer and they responded within hours which I thought was pretty good in today’s world. This is where things took a little bit of time but I can’t say in any way it was ICECO’s fault for the time frame to repair. So they wanted to make sure it wasn’t the cord USPS lost that one they shipped me another one this took an extra week due to the USPS. The cord showed up but didn’t fix it. Responded to them and again they responded within hours that we would need to do an exchange. Requesting for me to ship it back before they’d ship the new one. I had a few trips planned and figured it worked on DC I was good to go so I took two weeks extra before attempting to send it in. Then noticed I didn’t have any way of packing it up properly and asked if they could go ahead and ship the new one so I could just pack the used one back in the box and ship it back. Well they agreed and within a few days I had a new unit at my door. Swapped out and sent the broken unit back. Once again the time frame to replacement was extended in my case but in no way do I blame ICECO for that. I at this time would still suggest that if you are looking for a good unit I’d say this is worth the purchase. Only time will tell for sure but know this, every manufacturer out there has a failure here and there, but it’s all about how they handle that failure and I’d say they handled my situation extremely well.”

The fridge itself is very quiet and keeps the temperature with no problems even in 30+ Celsius weather, the built quality is nice and sturdy. The costumer service was great my fridge got lost during shipping but iceco sent me a mail as soon as it got delayed and sent another one immediately. really pleased with this product. Last but not least for the price this is just great value my other option was the arb element zero but it was atleast double the price. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a fridge that isn't going to break the bank and is going to look and perform great while doing it.

This is an item you won’t ever regret buying. They’re not cheap, but can save you big headaches and money from lost food. As well as camping, this is useful at home for extra cold storage needs and even in the case of a fridge breakdown. Watch for discounts and invest in one. Used it for weeks without stop and it worked great. Absolutely silent too. Get the available cover too to further insulate the box.

This is replacement to a previous brand that broke after 2 years. It’s quite and easy to use! The insulated cover we purchased makes it kick off and on less, maintaining its temp. It is well made.

The ICECO VL45 Portable Refrigerator (with Insulated Cover) arrived well packaged. The first thing I noticed in unpacking was that this unit is heavy. It weighs in at about 50lbs. To put that in perspective however, my 50qt rotomolded cooler is also about the same weight when factoring in the ice. With the VL45, I have more room for food. I used the frig on a recent camping trip. The night before, I plugged the frig into AC power and set the temp to 38 degrees. The frig was about quarter full (just a short overnight stay). The ambient temperature was 65 to 40 degrees. In the truck and at the camp site the frig was hooked to my Jackery 500 power station using the 12VDC plug. I set the VL45 to eco mode. At idle, the frig used only 2w. When the compressor kicked in, it went to 29w. This was with the insulated cover on, I did leave the top flap unzipped to allow easy access. The internal frig temperature stayed right around 38 degree. By way of comparison, my Coleman thermoelectric cooler uses a continuous 49w. It would quickly drain your battery if you were not careful. With the VL45, the Jackery showed 76% power remaining after 24 hours. The unit is generally in the tent, so I was happy that the compressor was very quiet. Yes this is a bit expensive, but it is a quality product. I'll update my review after the 2021 summer camping season or if I have any issues.

Totally satisfied with this first purchase of a portable refrigerator/freezer. Unloaded, this thing rockets to freezing in less than 30 minutes. After that you can move it to your vehicle and stuff it with your goodies for your adventure. You might get a hernia if you fill it before you move it. I like the heavy duty construction, ease of operation, and included durable insulating cover. It fits well in the back of my Subaru Outback, leaving enough room for a 12V LiFePo battery to fit between the seat back and the unit. This unit ran for 13 days on a 200Ah battery without a solar panel or car charging! AWESOME!

This thing is awesome so far! We took it on our camping trip from Texas to Glacier on the Canadian/Montana border. It was so nice not having to worry about refilling ice constantly in a cooler and having things get soggy from the melted ice water. It works great as a fridge or a freezer. We have tried both. It has plenty of room for several meals worth of cold food at a time. We will not be going back to a regular cooler!
