One Step Closer Bible NLT - Navy Leather Bound – Special Edition, February 14, 2021

On my first Amazon search of a NLT version, I see at the top that Candace Cameron Bure published one of these Bible versions! I've always admired her and her faith so I added to cart and received it yesterday. It's the most beautiful leather-bound Bible I've come across. Some of my favorite aspects are: Easy to read and understand, Jesus' words are in red, there is space on the sides for jotting down notes, she has book introductions for each chapter, and there is this neat Help Finder index in the back. The first page I opened to is a verse that means something to me personally:Luke 22:34 - "Watch out! Don't let your hearts by dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don't let that day catch you unaware, like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the Earth. Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man."I've been thinking alot lately about our last days on this Earth since my oldest sister passed away very unexpectedly last month. We never know when our last day is. Tomorrow is never promised. So we need to be ready, right? Keep the faith in God, be kind, and do good everyday. I just hope I'm making Him proud and living out this life as He wants me to. I don't want to waste this life He gave me.

I absolutely fell in love with this Bible!!! I was hesitant because of some of the reviews (i tend to look at a variety of reviews before purchasing), but super happy I purchased anyway.PROs: Help Finder is so welcoming and not only does it give you bible verses but also a little summary, and questions to which makes you really think about what you read, which I find SO helpful. The 3 Ribbons!!! Love this because I am tired of sticking multiple napkins in my other bibles as place holder (lol truth). How compact it is, yet still able to read. Now I can carry it everywhere! Each book also comes with an insightful intro, what you will be reading about and key verses (so if you are like me and get overwhelmed by information, the key versus helps me stay focused and not get lost with every little detail.) Honestly I can go on and on about what I like.CONs: some of pages do stick but honestly, not bad at all, it is just because it's new they spread apart very easily. The pages wrinkle as they are thin and I'm nervous about highlighting (bleed through) however, I will be using a pen to underline instead (working on my ocd). The price is a little high.So the CONs, really aren't bad and PROs ARE SO MUCH MORE!!!Side Note: I have several Bibles and this is my favorite by far! I do plan to gift all my daughters (6) with one as well :)

This Bible is beautiful. It would make a great gift for someone who loves reading the Bible or someone who is looking to embark on a spiritual journey. I could see this working well for someone who seeks to understand or someone who is going through a difficult time and leaning on the Bible for support.. The cover is very nice quality and the pages have golden edges. The ribbons add a nice touch for both asthetic reasons and practical ones; like bookmarking a page. I love the quick reference index in the back of the book and the notes embedded within the pages. Each section begins with noteworthy Bible verses from the section as well as a summary of what to expect. The language is easy to follow and reads like a book. This is exactly what I was looking for. There are places to take notes and a dedication section in the front. This Bible is Fantastic. Worth every penny. If I could afford it I would buy one for all of the special people in my life, even those who aren't super religious. Great buy!

I love this Bible!! It is a NLT version so it has been easier for me to understand. I have NIV translation study Bibles but I find this version to be much easier for me. This Bible is beautiful, well made and has so many extra tools to help understand the Word. The Help Finder Index towards the end of the Bible is so incredibly helpful and I refer to it to help me with scriptures pertaining to certain questions I may have. I also love that before each book, there is an introduction on what that book is about, key verses, and applications notes throughout. There is also an area on every page to jot down notes on the sides on the pages. I cannot tell how much this Bible has been used in the few weeks that I have had it. The 3 bookmarks are so nice too! They help me mark different sections as I’m doing Bible studies or in church. Two other sections in here that I have found helpful are the: Great Bible Stories for Discovering God’s Truth list and Great Bible Passages to Study and Memorize list - both in the back of the Bible. It has really helped me understand so much more about the Bible. **it does not come with the book tabs - I ordered those separately on Amazon.

Easy to understand

This is the best Bible I’ve ever came across! It’s so pretty and fun. I love how when God speaks its written in red so I can differentiate who’s speaking. I love how the paragraphs are titled so I can get a just of what’s occurring. I love the thorough summaries before each book & love the key scriptures at the beginning of each book. I absolutely love the mini checkpoints throughout that help me relate & elaborate on what I just read. I really really love the help index in the back of the Bible for any problems that we may face such as abortion, depression, doubt etc. this is literally such a great Bible & this isn’t a paid review. I’m surprised the “She Reads Truth” Bible is more popular than this one
