Barcelona Nou Camp StadiumNew Camp (Camp Nou in Catalan) is a football stadium located in Barcelona, Spain. It is the home of the Barcelona Football Club. At the time of its inauguration on the 24 September 1957 it did not have a name, and it was not until the 22 September in 1965 that it was baptized simply as the Barcelona Football Club Stadium (Estadio del Club de Futbol Barcelona) Finally in April 2001 the stadium was officially rechristened as New Camp. The name by which it had always been popularly known. With a capacity of 99,354 it is the stadium with most capacity in Europe and sixth in the world. However thanks to various structural alteration the capacity has varied over the years. Initially in 1957 the capacity was 93,053 spectators which rose to 120,000 to coincide with the World Cup in 1982. Subsequently, following the requirement for fully seated stadiums, the capacity stood at 99,000.
