Perfect replacement
This fit perfectly as a replacement handle on our sliding door. Make sure you read the dimensions before you purchase a handle to ensure it fits your door. My only complaint is the lack of instructions. There was a diagram of the key mechanism which really did not make sense. I also watched a few YouTube videos to make sure I knew what I was doing, and was able to compare it to my old mechanism.Overall, it is not very difficult, but more detailed instructions would be nice. With the key mechanism, there are long 'key' pieces that side into the latch, one from each side of the door. Depending on the width of your door, you break to 'key' bar so that the latch on either side reaches the latch mechanism. BOTH sides have to slide into the latch, and cannot overlap, so make sure you measure a few times before snapping off the key bar. There is only one chance to get this right, if you make one side too short, you have to purchase a new lock mechanism. so make sure you do this right!!

Now we have another keyed door.
Well the white is a bit whiter than the slider; and, even though I am a slave to fashion, I guess it is OK, and it may fade over the centuries. The lock tabs were scary to break off but worked OK. Oh, it was also a bit challenging to hold all the pieces in the door until screwed together. But all came out OK.

I used this to add an external lock to a Simonton Patio Door with offset thumb Lock
There must a tight market on adding locks to patio doors cause I only found 2 Amazon vendors that offer a lock/handle set where the lock is NOT on center.., if your thumb lock is ON center, do not buy this. Luckily I received instructions with mine. Without cutting anything, remove you current handle set and install the lock portion with handle attached to dry fit and see if the lock/key can operate the mortise latch to your satisfaction.Initially it was rather easy to lock and unlock but things will change once you cut the Tail Pieces to size and assembly it on the door. You only get one chance to cut this. I used a metric ruler to measure the width of my door which was 40mm. Reason being is that 1/2 of the Tail Piece from the lock portion and 1/2 of the Tail piece of the internal portion have to meet in the middle so that you operate the cylinder from either inside or outside using the key. I cut the key Tail Piece on the lock side to 20mm, I may have cut it one notch too short since once I assembled it, the handle set took so much "english" to get it to sit right and operate within reason. My advice is to use a marker and insert the uncut lock portion with the tail piece and mark the notch as it passes thru the hole in the mortise and viewable from the inside. Mark that notch and cut the lock tail piece and try to operate the lock to operate the latch. I reused my original internal handle so that I did not have to cut the internal tailpiece and would have a spare. you can always cut one notch on the keyed part till both handles fit flush. TLDR.. be careful cutting the Tail Piece of the lock error on the side of caution .. cut it too long for leverage since the lock will bind once you screw both pieces together. If you need extra keys, take the lock portion to a locksmith that makes Keys and have them use a KwikSet Key Blank KW1 .. he had to buff it after cutting. I took it to a hardware store they also used a KW1 but it did not work .. having the lock to test it on helped in the effort to make spares

Cheap Trash
This is garbage; do not buy. If you tighten the screws all the way, the lock will not engage. I tried using washers to solve this problem, and it did nothing. The handle had to be lose if I wanted to lock the door. I tried working the lock as I tightened it, to see if that might fix the problem. All that did was cause the internals to corkscrew. Now the lock is stuck between being half engaged. The company was quick to offer me a refund, so they have that going for them. At least they didn't dispute that they sold me trash.

Easy to replace
It was very inexpensive and easy to replace when the one on the sliding door stopped working.

measure your door
The handles are great but the screws are longer than the width of my door and when I tightened it to the point where is should be I couldn't use the key lock. I had to take it all apart and use washers around the screws to separate the handles from each other so that the key lock would work so it looks a little cheesy.

Fit Like A Glove! Works Great!
Installed a few months ago and still working great. This might need some experience know how for some people. I used to work as a carpenter and I'm familiar with this type of hardware. But not to worry because now all you need is a visit to YouTube. This is a very good slide door lock and I do recommend it. Cheers!
