Klein Tools NCVT2P Dual Range, Non-Contact Voltage Tester, 12-1000V AC, Visual and Audible Indicators, Auto Power Off

Klein Tools are an American Brand akin to Fluke in the UK - A good start. Amazon sold and despatched - Best and most reliable way of buying from Amazon - Another plus point IMO. Not the cheapest as so many Chinese copies out there at half the price but, again IMHO this is WELL WORTH the extra. It arrived next day via Prime (in basic Amazon packaging but very sturdy moulded plastic covering from the manufacturer). It works really well, good level of sensitivity differentiating easily where cables are close together. Worked straight out of the 'box' having inserted the AAA batteries and hasn't missed a beat so far. It has an auto switch off to conserve the batteries which is so useful. My previous Maplin tester had a small torch built into the end which was actually useless and, as I don't work in the dark, hardly something I miss. So far definately so good. It also seems pretty robust and Klein even claim it should survive a a drop of a couple of metres. All in all, a nice usefull piece of kit at a fair price. Edit: Don't know what Amazon have done to the picture resolution, the instruction sheet which gave detailed info of it's capabilities had a resolution of 4677 x 3307 when I posted it - ah well !

Great tool have two it works and can be trusted

I like this! It's very sensitive and has two ranges of detection, one going down to 12V (but AC only). The "beep" is loud enough and the lights are bright. Well done - a trustworthy device than every home should have.

Awesome! Quick, easy to use, & safe as it's non contact

Being a practicing electrician I always have a volt stick with me for quick indication. I have had loads of them over the years from no name generic things to top brands. Recently my last one died so I got this one to replace it and it is possibly the best volt stick I have ever owned. It has LEDs to show which sensitivity mode you are on as well as LEDs in the tip that flash to indicate power and at what level. The built in buzzer is also quite loud. Its also compact enough to fit nicely in the pocket, The pictures make it look bigger than it is. Time will tell how well it will hold up to daily use but it feels good quality. My only criticism (and its silly really!) is it can be a bit glaring in a dark panel! Overall great little indicator!

This electrical tester works great and does exactly what I needed. It checks everything accurately and is very easy to use. I also really liked that the battery was included, so it was ready to use right away. Great quality and very useful. I definitely recommend it!
