Works well for me - make sure you register your product
I bought the IC60 to replace my 4+ year old IC40 that was reaching the end of its useful life. I upgraded to the IC60 because I never felt my IC40 was adequate for my 28,000 gallon pool. Pentair specifications says that the IC40 should be plenty for my sized pool but my experience would disagree. Even before the IC40 started slowing down, I was running 18 hours a day at 100% and still needed to add bleach every week or so to get back up to 6ppm. I got some good advice from my friends at Trouble Free Pool dot com that upgrading to the IC60 would solve my problem.I got a price from a pool service I've used before. An IC 60 installed would have been around $1,400. I bought the IC 60 at Amazon for $735 which is closer to $700 after the 5% cash back for using my Amazon VISA. Installation was a breeze. It took about 7 minutes. After I turned the power back on, the new SWG fired up fine. My salt level, which had been reported as "low" for weeks showed 3600 on the Diagnostics menu on my EasyTouch. The "check cell" warning was clear and "flow" was green. I turned on "super chlorination" as my FC tested 0.5 right before I installed the new SWG. Sunday afternoon, after about 20 hours of runtime, the FC was up to 5.0.If you are reading these reviews you will see a lot of people complaining about only getting a 60 day warranty if you install one of these yourself. That may have been true at some point. I don't know. But it isn't the case now. If you register your product with Pentair within 60 days of installation you get a 2 year warranty. I registered my SWG online and uploaded my Amazon order summary as proof of purchase. I'm glad I did because a few months after I installed my iC60 I started getting an erroneous "low salt" reading. I called Pentair and they sent out a tech who determined the flow switch had gone bad. He replaced it and I am up and running.I was very happy with how Pentair stood behind their product and repaired it quickly without any discussion. So buy your own and save big money!

Works well, like advertised…
Fixed our issue, only thing is that this is our third one in 11 years, perhaps they could improve the design?

IC60 Replaced IC40 Without Issue
My IC40 salt cell failed after about 6 years -- the blinking green light would not reset in spite of cleaning etc.The pool clearly had an issue as the water became less clear very quickly.I purchased this -- was delivered within 48 hours, well packed. The installation took less than 2 minutes, and within 8 hours you could tell the product was doing its thing and doing it well. The water cleared up and all systems were go.I read an interesting report about the production of chlorine by this cell... specifically how much is produced over a 24 hour period versus the IC40. I decided to upgrade and operate this cell in a reduced percentage mode with the idea of making it last longer.Very happy with the purchase, delivery, install and operation. Great stuff.

IC60 keeps my levels normal in the south HOT sun.
I had an IC40 for bout 6 years. I think it was starting to go so I went bigger and upgraded to the IC60 for 2 reasons. 1) It utilizes the same power supply as the IC40, so I didn't need to upgrade that. 2) In Oklahoma we have HOT Summers in upwards of 100* for weeks and the pool is full sun, and it seems the IC40 just couldn't keep up. I'd start to get algae growth even with the IC40 on 100 percent around some dead spots in the vinyl pool. It would get into the little divots and be difficult to remove. For 2 seasons now, the IC60 has kept up and I've had NO algae anywhere and my chlorine levels stay normal. During the peak summer, I have the IC60 at 60% I run our pump/filter system about 8hrs-day. 4 in the morning - 4 in the evening to escape the price hike during peak times from our electric company.28,800 Vinyl Inground.

The IC60 is a really bad product made by a really bad company
Purchased just 4 months ago and chlorine generation has already quit. This is the 4th IC60 I have owned. The first failed after brief use and Pentair replaced it with a newer model that was functional, but only lasted 18 months. The next one was problematic from the beginning and never generated the specified amount of chlorine - just enough to keep down the algae in a pool with chemically perfect water, and died after 20 months - long enough for me to learn how miserable a company can make customer support. The warranty for this product has been increasingly limited over time (sign of a really bad product) and I was shocked to discover that the warranty on this one was ONLY FOR 60 DAYS unless you had it "installed" by a pool professional and registered within 60 days with proof of purchase!!! Mind you, as a replacement cell, "installation" means unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one. If you are a residential pool owner looking at Amazon for a replacement of your cell, DON'T DO IT if you expect you are getting a decent product from a decent company along with a reasonable warranty.

not happy
I bought this salt cell on April 26,2019. Recommended by my pool service company. It was installed early May, by my pool service company. My Pool Man just told me that the salt cell is not working!! They should last 3-5 years... $800+.

We’ll see
This is my second cell. I’ve upgraded from the IC40 (for my 30k gal pool) that ‘wore out’ after about 4 years. Im hoping this will last longer, because at this price I’m not looking forward to what its replacement is going to cost in 4 or 5 years. The cell sure has made pool maintenance a whole lot easier so I guess I’ll figure out how to absorb it, but geez! Please! Let’s have some new technology by then.

Great unit
Bought this unit June 2013 to replace my Jandy salt cell which was purchased oct 2012 .the pentair to me is a lot easier to understand the actual cell it self has the lights to inform you of salt levels water flow ect . This is a great unit ,in my view its the best salt cell on the market hands down

Replaced IC 40 from 2014 to IC 60
it is awesome! I have to run my pool for just 8 hours. Extra $200 is well worth it when it compared to IC40.
