Great tool for the hobbyist
I needed a nail gun to secure a piece of narrow plywood to a finished wall cabinet, and this filled the bill nicely. I'm only getting started doing woodworking, so I didn't want or need to break the bank. I was glad to find this and happy with its performance. As others have said, you need to follow the directions and hold down the head when nailing to get the nails flush. I'll definitely be using it again.

A $5 hammer would be EASIER to use!
Not only does it NOT sink nails, it doesn't even get them all the way in! Using 1" brads on thin, cheap pine, the nail goes 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in. What's the point?? And just to reiterate what other have said: It won't fire if it's not almost PERFECTLY perpendicular, and the cord is only about 7" long. I could forgive those 2 small problems if it actually nailed in a brad, but it can't even do that. SO disappointed.

Nail Gun
Although the concept is great, the nail gun just doesn't have enough power to sink the nail even in drywall. It was a waste of time and money for me, and thankfully amazons return policy is very generous because this was of no use for me. Save up a bit more and get a better electric nailer or a compressor/nailer combo kit. I recommend porter cables 3 gun combo compressor set on amazon, great stuff.

a nice idea, but.....
i bought this tool for small jobs, so i didn't have to lug around a compressor, hoses and brad nailer just for 5-20 minutes of work. one thing i like about it is the nails come pre-painted brown or white, so, in some cases, you don't have to fill the nail holes with putty.ok, now the bad things. first, it doesn't sink the nails. i thought at first it was just the oak i was using, but then i tried it in pine and it still didn't sink the nails. i , occassionally, can force the brad nailer to sink the nails if i firmly hold it with both hands and put all my weight on the nailer, but doing this overrides the no-marr tip and the firing mechanism leaves a dent on the work. second, it doesn't get into corners and the safety will only let it fire if the nailer is perpendicular to the work, so you still have to hand nail to finish the job. third, it has a very, very short cord; i think it's about 10." you need an extension cord, even if there is an outlet 2' away from the work area. arrow has since introduced a newer version of this "brad nailer" that has fixed most of the problems this unit has: longer, 10' cord, sinks the nails, drives up to 1 1/4", etc....i gave it 3 stars because it's still easier to use this tool to set nails and drive them home with a hammer, than it is to drag out the compressor, etc. it's a light-duty tool only and should only be expected to acheive light-duty results.

So what it doesnt sink nails...
If you putting up molding, baseboards this is the tool, there is a item at Lowes for 2 bucks called a nail sinker that you use with a hammer. the purpose of this item is to nail objects to walls, cabinets and THEN go back and finish sinking the nail in. Don't complain for 25 bucks

Not Bad, Pretty Handy
Lots of people complaining it won't sink nails... It's a brad nailer not an air nailer. Hold firmly against material sinks just fine for cedar and laminates. Has worked great for my small wood projects. I'm happy with this one especially given the low cost.

BUT IT DOESN'T SINK THE NAILS !
C'mon - how can you give this tool a good rating when it doesn't do the job it is supposed to do? Would you give kudos to a vacuum that you had to follow with a broom & dustpan? Yes, it may be easier to use this gun than a hammer BUT how about getting another electric nailer that does what it is supposed to do? I am very annoyed at having bought this without doing any research. I was at the HD and wanted an inexpensive and simple nail driver just for installing those cheap pre-finished baseboards in one room. It wasn't even worth it for that. The reviewer who wrote that the newer model "corrects" the problem proves this tool wasn't worth the few bucks I paid for it.
