Wonderful instructions! Beautiful book for theprice. The photos made me smile!

Patterns are well-written and the sizes are clearly explained with pictures and measurements. Be aware that this is an older book, and some of the recommended yarns are no longer available. Philar, for example, has gone out of business. But any yarn store can offer similar alternative yarns.

I love the variety of pattern for newborns up to one year old. I’ve started with the hoodie in bulky yarn. It knits up fast which I love!

I have only worked on one pattern so far, but it doesn’t inspire confidence. The instructions are often confusing and misleading. Ex: “At the end of row 40, cast on 14 sts at each side for the arms.” Well, you can’t cast on both sides when you’re at the end. In this same pattern it was often difficult to determine which row was being referenced. Also the picture on pg 14 shows the features of the cat were knitted into the pattern but the instructions say to embroider them on which is a completely different look. There are some cute projects and beautiful photographs, but I fear some instructions may be too confusing to work.

If you’ve never followed a pattern before, I wouldn’t suggest this book. I have since knitted multiple patterns and can now easily read the patterns in this book. When I first started knitting though, it was like a foreign language. I recommend beginners follow along with some YouTube videos that also have written patterns to learn first! This book has some really cute patterns though, I’ve made two for my little girl who’s due in December (:

This book has so many unique baby items, very cute. I began knitting one immediately and have collected the yarn for the next project. I will definitely be using this book often.

I have already made one cardigan which knitted up well. My daughter-in-law has put in an order for many of the items shown. Includes a variety of styles and skill levels.
