On Beyond Zebra! (Classic Seuss) Hardcover – September 12, 1955

Said Conrad Cornelius O'Donald O'Dell...to say it I know this book all to well.I still have this book that my mother gave to me 50 years ago. I cherish it. So of course my kids each have a copy. For a baby shower the request was to get their baby your favorite childhood book and here we are. So you can stop at the Z but not me!It really helped me to realize later in life to learn new words and enhance my vocabulary. Great book.

The core of this book is activating a sense of wonder and “what’s next” after the 26 character alphabet. As a child I remember having my mind blown by the idea of just continuing the alphabet, what would the fonts be, what words would be invented, and how long it could go on.Since this book was disavowed by the Seuss estate for insensitive images, it’s actually become a more important teaching tool, which I think Dr Seuss would have approved of as his true intent; open discussions, ask questions, and expand the world while bringing us closer.

Because this is such an original copy, I had to purchase really cool lotta fun purchase it as a gift they thought it was pretty stellar

My uncle bought this for us when I was 5 or 6 years old. It immediately appealed. I still remember one of the beasts by heart:boob boober, bab boober, boob boober bubs, they float on the water like blubbery tubs. They're no good to eat, you can't cook 'em like steaks, but they're handy in crossing small oceans and lakes!I think that's it anyway.Even at that age, I wasn't impressed by the cat in the hat or green eggs and ham, though of all the popular Seuss books, those seem to me to be the least juvenile (which I guess is a dumb criticism since that's the audience . . . ).I like to buy these for people with kids of that age, 5 or 6.Charming, sophisticated, Dr. Seuss at his best. I highly recommend this to any mom & dad who've exhausted the 4 sentence per page books -- you'll enjoy them as much as your kids -- if not more.

The shipping took over a week longer than it was supposed to and at one point it said the package was lost and the tracking info was never available. I realize now that was not the sellers fault, and when the book did eventually make it, it really was in excellent condition, even better than the listing described. It was the very last one I needed for my collection so thank you. It was worth the wait.

Great to add to Seuss Collection for grandson

Initially received this book as a gift on an emirates flight and had to buy the original. Great fun with language and my young son often wants to read it!
