Saved my wiring harness!
UPDATE: Had a small engine bay fire that took me 20-30 seconds to fully put out. On the wiring that i had wrapped in 51036, the wiring inside of the tape was in perfect shape. The tape "melted" and turned into like a hard plastic case around the wires, and saved the wiring! The wires that were wrapped in the factory tape or that were just bare were destroyed. This 51036 is noticeably stiffer than the 51608 interior tape Tesa offers. Also seems a lot more durable and abrasion resistant, definitely need a razor or sharp knife to cut it, it's not as easily tearable like 51608.Goes on easily, not as stretchy as 51608. Sticks to itself very well. It should be pretty heat resistant and fire retardant. Doesn't seem to leave any residue like regular electrical tape. Looks much cleaner than electrical tape wrapping, sticks better, doesn't leave residue, and is overall a better solution

Best high temp tape I've used
Survives in the engine bay of our 2020 Mustang GT in the Texas heat. Functions well in cool areas like the boot too. Super sticky, easy to wrap, and looks OEM. Best tape out there for the money, in our opinion.

Great tape for mounting dashcam
I used this for mounting my dash cam and it worked the best and didn’t slip off even in a hot climate. Definitely recommend

for stable stationary solutions
well its made of clothi used it to cover exposed copper wiring on my EVSE juicebox charging cableits already showing the bare copper again after moving the cable to/from the vehicle charginga few months nowthis is more for engine compartment, under dash wiring, etc.where it will not be exposed to abrasion or movement

Awesome = Sticky, Reusable, Durable, Tinsel
I've stuck and re-stuck this without washing my hands at least 20x to hold battery terminals down and its truly amazing how well it holds. I've noticed for best results, stick it back on to the backside of itself if you are trying to hold down a spring-back connection like I am. Overall pretty great stuff. I haven't tested it with high heat yet but for normal "electrical tape" it's done well in performance and does not leave a sticky residue like other tapes in 90 degree temps. Lengthwise cuts didn't work too well when removing and reapplying as it slightly frayed so buy the width according to your needs. No frays with normal cut ends. I'm no tape expert by any means but I'll never need another brand from what I can see. I'll have some engine needs shortly and if it impresses me there I'll update this review.

I love Tessa.
Apparently this tape is well-known in automotive restoration circles and less known to most of us shade tree mechanics. If you're messing around with automotive electrical, this stuff is a must have! I also highly recommend the expandable braided sleeving. This doesn't leave sticky residue on wires like you might experience using plain old electrical tape. It's plenty sticky for wrapping wiring harnesses to provide additional insulation and protection.I would recommend buying a few rolls of this stuff because you WILL go through it fairly quickly, all depending on the length and diameter of the bundle that you're wrapping. This is something that you'll want to keep in your toolbox now that you know about it.
