Bear Butt Kodiak Hammock Straps for Trees - 20 Feet Long, 40 Combined Loops - Holds 1000 Pounds - Camping Accessories With Carabiner

I bought these straps to go with my Bear Butt Hammock. They arrived on time and in great condition. The carrying bag is really well made and the straps fit back in it perfectly. A lot of times when I try to return something to its original carrying bag I find it doesn't fit or it's super tight. That is not the case with these straps even though they weren't as tight when I rolled them up as they originally were. The straps are of excellent quality and are super easy to use. You wrap the strap around the tree and feed it through the top loop. After that you have a plethora of loops to choose from to adjust the height of your hammock and voila you're ready to relax. I don't have two trees close enough to hang a hammock so I used our swingset and a tree for the combo to hang from. This was just an initial check of the product. The real test will be next month when we spend a week camping in Utah and Colorado and I will update my review once this item really gets some use. I am a big girl and so I worry about if something will actually hold me or not, and I had zero concerns with these straps. The straps didn't even look like they were breaking a sweat holding me up, and I'm not sure they even noticed I was there they're such high quality. Same goes for the included carabiner clips. The company is great, fantastic communication and they're funny to top it all off. If I had a complaint I am certain it would be handled professionally and quickly. I do want to offer a suggestion.....I ordered the black with blue stitching straps and received the black with green stitching straps. I don't know if this was an issue with Amazon grabbing the wrong straps on the order or this actual company? Since the order was fullfilled by Amazon I imagine it was someone just grabbing the wrong colors that were probably sitting right next to each other. Either way it doesn't matter to me, the green goes great with my blue and gray hammock and the straps themselves are fantastic. It's not a complaint but rather a suggestion to whichever company pulled the order to fill, which I'm pretty sure is Amazon. I would buy these straps again for another hammock and would suggest friends do the same.

I love these straps! I have to explain my title though. I ride long distance horse events with my Arabian mare. I decided to try a Ride & Tie event. This is an event with 3 team members: 2 people and one horse. I paired up with a friend of mine. At the start of the event, I was riding my horse and my friend was on the ground running. I went about a mile, then tied my horse to a tree and ran off, leaving my horse behind. My friend, who had started the event running, came up to my horse, got on her and then rode on. My friend, riding my horse, passed me, running, and after awhile, she tied my horse to a tree. And we continued that way for 32 miles. This hammock strap comes into the picture. We used one of these Bear Butt straps to tie my horse to trees. I ran the loop end through her rope halter. When coming up to a tree, we would wrap the strap around the tree, then we used a heavy duty locking climbing carabiner to clip 2 of the loops on the hammock strap together. Viola. Horse is tied. This was the first event like this I'd done with my horse and I had never tied her to a tree and run off and left her. In preparation for the event, I tied her in my field with this strap for training. There were a few upset moments as I rode her pasture buddy in and out of her view. But the Bear Butt strap held her just fine. No indication of any weak spots. Super happy with this strap set. I also have hammocks, so I can use the straps for the hammock when not doing a Ride & Tie event!

I purchased these to go with a different name brand of hammock, who charges $10 more for their straps. These straps are better in every way. They hold 1000 lbs vs 400 lbs. They have 20 loops on each side, which makes it super easy to adjust. I had never hung a hammock before in my life. It took me a total of 5 minutes to strap them to the tree, and find the right loop which provided the proper 30-degree angle recommend for the most comfortable hang. The stitching is phenomenal—making these incredibly durable. The straps are 1-inch wide, which is typically what parks require to keep from damaging the trees. I got the black straps with the green stitching and that color combo looks really cool. The two carabiners they include with it are pretty heavy duty. A nice surprise. Durable enough to hang even a heavy, loaded pack on the straps at the base of the hammock to keep it off the ground. With all the loops and the extra load capacity of these straps, you can put a lot of extra gear on it. One of the best Amazon purchases I've ever made.

First off, I'm jealous a bunch of reviews here got to buy these off a discount, but that's neither here nor there. The point is, I bought a hammock which came with ropes, this was my first hammock as I am a poser hipster trying to lounge around in the park and have people look at me saying "woah that dude looks hella comfy....lucky". Problem is, I'm a city guy that was never in the boy scouts, sooooo my knots top out at double looping my shoe strings. Enter Bear Butts tree straps!!! I'm embarrassed to say I youtubed how to use these just in case before trying it myself because THEY....ARE...SOOOO EASY TO USE! Excuse the screaming. I went to the park and had these set up in less than a minute, literally, and took about 20 secs to take down. I pretend I care about the trees and told some folks that asked about them that ropes are bad for trees and I prefer straps (I didnt have to tell them I never tried ropes, and that just looks too hard for me). Finally, the name is just amazing, I get a small movie actor grin every time I look down at the bag. In conclusion, amazing straps, great name, it held be and my girl friend easily so I can attest to it holding at least 290 pounds, and if you don't like it you can get your money back (dont be a jerk and just buy and get money back #supportsmallbusiness). PS: I texted their phone number and they legit text you back pretty soon after THATS customer service!

I managed to pick up these straps when I got my Bear Butt hammock a couple of weeks ago. The husband spent over $100 on an ENO setup, for the double and straps. I got these straps, and my hammock, with a $5 discount, for less than HALF of what he spent on his. So, naturally, I had to rub that in. Not to mention my setup is waaaaay prettier, and feels more stable than his. I had to try his out before I decided that I wanted my own. So I came back today to buy more, but they're all out of stock! That was disappointing, but I'll just keep watching and waiting till they come back in. All the kids want their own hammocks now, and since there's so many of them, I hope they have enough inventory to cover us all :) I'm not a small girl, coming in around 200 at 5'6", but there was no slipping, creaking, popping, snapping, ripping or tearing when I flopped down into my hammock held up by these straps. I'm pretty sure we could use them to pull one of the ATVs if necessary with these straps. I'm more confident in the durability of these straps than I am of the ratchet straps we use to secure the ATVs with. And with the length, finding somewhere to set up is a piece of cake. I literally had my hammock set up in under 2 minutes. Can't wait to take them back out camping this weekend. And buy more!

We love these straps, and I can't wait to buy more. It was so easy to set up our hammock. We have some others that are those ones that you can ratchet back to tighten? Yeah, well they broke or didn't work or something - so my husband ended up tying them to the tree. Such a hassle! With these it's almost instant set-up - even the kids can do it! I'm looking forward to buying some more for our next trip, so we can switch more of our hammocks over (yes, we have about six between us all! Have to have one for each kid!) We just returned from a week long camping trip with a couple of families. We're pretty hard on our hammocks. Everyone loves my triple-person hammock. The kids are constantly in it, often we have an adult and a couple of kids in there, or a collection of kids - and the kids like to swing HIGH in the hammocks! These straps took it all without complaint - and no stretching or slipping. We left it out in the rain and it didn't seem to mind. I noticed these take much more weight (500lbs per strap) than other similar straps (200lbs per strap). With the number of kids we have in and out of my hammock, I really wanted something that would stand up. So far I haven't been disappointed, so thanks guys!

So what happened was....we were going camping and I decided I wanted a hammock. I bought one, and while I do know my knots, I had never hung a hammock before. I ordered a set of these straps. Well, Amazon dropped the ball as they have been doing a bit lately, and I did not get the shipping speed I was promised and had to set up my non-Bear Butt hammock (Out of Stock at the time) using some 550 cord. Found a tree, ran the initial loop of cord doubled over, threw in a quick non-slip knot to secure one end of the hammock, and then proceeded to the other end. Well, I have found that no one provides good guidance on how tight a hammock should be when setting it up for flipping new guys! Try one, hammock has no give, but the knots hold. Try two, and my butt hits the ground, knots still hold. Try three, butt off the ground, but still too tight. Try four, and it works, but the double person hammock is not big enough comfortable enough for the two of us. Had to run back into town to take care of an issue, and swung by the house and grabbed my Kodiak Straps. Moved my hammock to a better spot with a better view of the water and more shade, and it took less than five minutes and was easy! Run the strap through the end loop, pick your length, hook up the carabiner, test, adjust loop, and voila! Set up and ready for a nap!

These straps are incredibly durable, easy to use, and so long it allows for so much flexibility in choosing a hang sight! Kodiaks made hanging my hammie the easiest possible, it only takes me 2 or 3 mins to set up. I preferred to buy the tree straps over using the ropes sent with the hammie as it is incredibly important to practice leave no trace and not damage the trees, however, I have unfortunately found that these straps rub and pull on the bark stripping it a bit. The logo has also begun fraying and gets caught on the tree bark...Additionally, they have slipped on me a bit around thicker trees which I was very nervous about if I was going to hit ground. For most hangs these are wonderful, though I have to be careful with the type of tree I hang them on. Sadly, I had to dock a star due to some damage to the poor trees in my local park and slipping on thicker ones. :(

Great quality, strong and long enough to put around any two trees for a hammock. Supports a double wide hammock with two people in at a time easily.

These straps make setting up and adjusting the hammock basically zero effort. I can have the hammock set up in two minutes. Tear down in two minutes as well. Definitely worth it.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Seems to be very good quality. I appreciate the little packing bag that comes with it. Highly recommend this product.
