I have several coarse grit stones, very time-saving in reestablishing smooth bevels. Some are soakers, this one is splash & go (like many such, you do have to add a few drops every now and then, but it stays as wet as a 1k). Besides its width and depth and looking nice, it has a very smooth texture for such a coarse grit, and cuts very nicely with a nice even scratch pattern. It does not wear as quickly as some others. Part of a stone is the pleasure of using it, the feedback. Very happy with it! Edit added: I forgot to mention it will sharpen to paper-slicing smoothness.
