Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mt. Vesuvius (Bonechi Golden Book Collection) Paperback – 1 Jan. 1991

I find the Bonechi books really good. Although aimed at the tourist market, as they seem to fill the nearby stalls in many languages, they are full of decent colour photographs and cover the main attractions of the featured sites. Quite expensive when you get there, but can often be purchased for one penny plus postage on Amazon for a copy in as-new condition !!! They are informative and in a good large page format. My collection is growing.

Just returned from a trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum and found the guide book very informative. It's also filled with lovely photos.

Got a good used copy - am about to visit Pompeii and as reviews said guide books are scarce on site and I like to read in advance this seemed like a good option to take. Plenty of photos of main sights with a couple of paragraphs about each so a good companion Would recommend

Book was described as in good condition when it was appalling. It had water damage & the spine was broken. I haven't even bothered to read it. I will purchase books I want to read new in future. Very disappointing. I didn't bother to send it back as I didn't pay much for it but did expect more.

The sort of cheaply produced book one usually buys from gift/souvenir shops when at the place it describes. It was quite tatty but did give some clues as to what to look for when visiting the sites as we did in June. The sites have moved on since the book was produced; not the antiquities but the way the sites have been enhanced to "improve" the visitor experience. Some items described are no longer on site and now reside in the Napoli museum so a trip there a day or so later provided the chance to see some wonderful items.The book cost a penny plus p&p so not a great investment and lots of useful information and pictures made this a worthwhile addition to our trip.

I bought this book to take on holiday as we were visiting Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius. The reviews in it were excellent and gave us that prior knowledge which helps with the appreciation of what you are looking at.

Having just visited both Pompeii and Herculaneum this book is highly recommended. An excellent read before a visit to either historical site.

concise and full of excellent photos

This was a perfect addition to the pictures that we had taken at Pompeii etc. helped with identification of some of my pictures.

old version was not explained. I know this was old because between the pages was a ticket sign to see the eiffel tower from 1993. and the price for this book was in Lira. disappointed. The site looks very different now then it did when all these old photos were taken from this book.
