Really handy book for helpful tips on nailing the basics of planning interiors whatever your home style or budget, initially was disappointed there weren't lots of glossy interiors photos but realised quickly this would defeat the point of the book. Very easy to read and would highly recommend

I love this book! It gives you information about basic design principles and is great inspiration when it comes to decorating your home. Lots of info about placement of products within the home and comparisons of what to no and not to do. Great coffee table book too.

Just over half way through, and I am really enjoying this book, also, the cover is an amazing texture and lovely shade of grey.

This book is just what i wanted. It is full of practical ideas and advice without loads of fashion interior design photos. It is a really good book

It is not a fluffy, coffee table book with lots of glossy photographs, it is an intelligent book for people who want to learn how to approach a design project and make it their own.So often the approach to interior design is to copy photographs showing other people's work. This book empowers the reader to create their own design and to make it work within their own setting. It gives basic principles of design to use as a guide, explains how common mistakes occur and shows how to create a harmoniously designed house.I am due to move house later this year so I am using this book to learn about interior design so that when I start the project, I will have a firm foundation of knowledge to build upon.If I have a criticism - and it is a tiny one - it is that the section relating interior design to architectural designs of houses, would have been more useful had the houses used as guides been British houses. However, all that means os that I will have to do some more work and research British architecture myself. At least I can use the information in the book to work out what kind of information I need to find.On the whole, a wonderful book, it will soon be tattered - a sure sign of a useful book!

After purchasing this, and reading it from cover to cover, I will transform the hovel I currently dwell in to a small section of paradise on earth. I have all the knowledge I need thanks to this book. It looks good on my coffee table too. Makes me appear sophisticated.

Love love love this book. Great tips and tricks for functionality and style in a home. Encourages using what you have and how to style rather than following trends. Useful book to have in any home old or new! Plus it looks great on my shelf also.

Bought this after borrowing a copy from the library. Has everything you need to know about interior design and picking the right styles, shapes and sizes of home furnishings all in one book. Proving invaluable while we design and decorate a new extension and for updating rooms that haven't been redecorated for ages. Highly recommend.

Il libro risulta essere una guida pratica su come decorare una casa.I consigli spaziano non solo sulle disposizioni, ma anche sui colori da accostare o addirittura su come disporre tessuti o cuscini in un ambiente per suscitare una sensazione piuttosto che un'altra.Ho apprezzato molto la praticità dei consigli e la semplicità delle idee, in grado di cambiare notevolmente l'aspetto di una stanza e la percezione che si ha di essa, entrandovi.Davvero un bel libro, una lettura scorrevole e rilassante, nonchè molto stimolante.Piccolo appunto: io non me ne ero resa conto, ma fate attenzione a non acquistare lo stesso libro in versione italiana, ovvero Sentiti bene nella tua casa, sempre di Frida Ramstedt. Mi sono lasciata ingannare dalla copertina cartonata rigida, dal fatto che fosse in lingua italiana e ho creduto fossero altri consigli, ma in realtà è lo stesso libro.Tuttavia, preferisco la versione inglese, sia per la qualità di presentazione, sia per il fatto che, essendo rilegato in copertina rigida, il libro si mantiene aperto senza dover fare delle antiestetiche pieghe e rovinarlo.

It is the best book I have ever read! Gold in interior design. If you want to understand the basic of interior design and do it properly instead of copying from fancy interior examples, this is it. Those said this book is bad didn't understand what this book is trying to say. If you only want fancy interior examples, then don't buy it. if you want to learn the core and basic and do it from scratch, then yes!
