what is the max weight anyone has used this strap with? Can it hold 50lbs without tearing or becoming uncomfortable?

If you are lifting 50 lbs or heavier, it might be a good idea to go with a strap that does not have velcro. It would like two metal d-rings that you would clip to the cable machine.This strap should work as well... but it is mainly meant for light to medium weight.
