I have been really happy with these so far. The action on the gate is really smooth and has a very satisfying click and snap when it closes. The finish is totally flawless. Looks world class. Most important to me is that they show proof of a current certification from an authorized body in the product pictures. I use these for a PAS for multi pitch climbing. I have tested them with my full body weight (200lbs) for extended periods of time on multiple occasions. No problems whatsoever. The real test is the test of time. But for the last month or so these have been great.UPDATE - After a year of very regular sport climbing, these are still working perfectly. I've taken them on some great adventures, and caught dozens of climbing falls on them, including some 20-25ft whippers of my own (and I am heavy for a climber, 180-190lbs). These are legit, and I will continue trusting my life with them.

These are about the size of your palm, maybe little bigger. They're not cheap plastic and the auto-locking hinge is well made. Just twist and push back toward center. Let go and it spins back and locks itself. Every piece on these is well made, nicely coated and built for real use (unlike most cheap decorative ones). 8,000 pound limit. I'm using them with a bungee leash and an 85 pound pitmix. I'm more worried about whatever I attach this to breaking than this every having an issue. Also came with 3, so I can use the other two for little climbs while hiking.

Purchased these to use along with our dog leash & a safety strap to secure our dog to our belts after my husband accidentally dropped the leash on a walk in the woods & our dog was missing for 4 days. We needed something strong, light & easy to use & these fit the bill perfectly. I'd venture to say they'd come in handy for many things in addition to climbing.

Solid and well-made.

These are nice, sturdy and quick. The safety lock isn't threaded like the old school type, but a spring-loaded collar that you twist 90 degrees to unlock. It still feels safe and much quicker to open, especially with one hand.
