KalaMakala Concert Mahogany Ukulele (MK-C) White Accents

I love it. I love it. My first ever uke was a Stagg soprano and I learned the bare minimum on that. My husband kept nicking my Stagg (guitar player interested in uke) so I got him his own Makala soprano (MK-S). I saw a massive difference between my Stagg and his Makala and I then kept nicking his Makala! I researched more about Makala and read rave reviews about them. They're highly recommended as a quality budget uke. They look the part. They look quality and they sound quality. I bought this concert Makala because I wanted something ever so slightly bigger than a soprano. As owners of a soprano Makala and a concert Makala we can tell you they have just a great sound to them. They don't sound 'plinky' as with ukuleles that are thrown together on the cheap. Every last inch of this feels like it's made properly. It has a nice loud sound to it and it isn't covered with paint which can inhibit sound. It's fantastic for the money.

Really nice uk’s. Glad I chose it and not one of the cheaper models all over amazon. Sound is good for a starter. Wood is well finished, no joins at all. Action low which is a bonus and keeps tuned for a long time without too much tweaking. Deep rich colour I personally love. There was a bit of buzzing on the nut of the C string. I had to shave off a tiny piece of plastic on the cover. Hasn’t completely solved it but email kala and they advised putting a bit of glue behind it to stop it vibrating. Really helpful despite being in US and i being here in UK. Great investment as a starter as I think it’ll go longer use wise before wanting to get something really posh!

Excellent Ukulele, great tone, well worth the money.Makala are the lower priced range from Kala.The concert size is a little bigger than the traditional Soprano ukulele, but still has the classic ukulele sound.The larger fret board makes it easier to play and it is louder than the soprano model.It is definitely worth spending a bit extra for this Ukulele, the quality is really good and it holds its tuning very well.The strings that are fitted are also excellent quality.

Its fine but arrives in a plastic bag in an unsealed thin cardboard ukulele box. Given Amazon package everything, why was this sent in such poor thin packaging. If you were giving this as a gift it would be underwhelming when you were presented with it. Ukelele is fine and sounds good for the money.
