The conclusion to the saga!
So, first, I have to admit I was so mad at the title of this book (and the cover) XD I ordered it ahead of time when still reading book 2 so that I wouldn't have to wait to keep reading. And I put the pieces together before Kal became the Wolf King. So, book 2 spoilers. I was upsetted. That said, it's a very pretty cover. All of the new covers are. And the title is fitting. In many ways, this felt like a book of climaxes. Different story threads here and there all finally crashed together. But we still started out with this beautiful, homey family time. (The blindplopping was epic and I loved this part of the culture and worldbuilding.) Then the story just unravels from there and we push into the long-awaited war.I really enjoyed following Sara and Gammon and Artham and company. Those were my favorite bits and the plot I was definitely most intrigued by. I wished there had been even more of Arthan and for him. His part seemed smaller somehow and that was a little disappointing. He was absolutely one of my favorite characters. But the whole organization and efforts in Scree drew me in. I wanted to see them fight and rebuild, so those glimpses were satisfying. And the storyline with Maraly was so fun and sweet, too!The sea dragons also felt like the had a smaller role--a good one, albeit, but I think it could have been even cooler to dig deeper into their history and culture. And the climactic twist I can honestly say I didn't see coming until it was right upon me. I yelled at the book XD It was a neat way to bring all Naag's lines together. Also, I'd wondered about the whole "Nameless" thing from the beginning and it was neat to see how that actually tied in, which was not quite how I anticipated, but still really fun.Oh man, all the Cloven stuff was so cool! I loved the city they found and how that led to another pocket of the world Peterson had built with yet another culture. They were fascinating and I definitely wanted to dig into them more. And just because I must comment on the ending (without spoilers), I have mixed feelings. I can honestly say I didn't put the pieces together. I tried to puzzle it out, but it didn't hit me until it happened and so I was a little stunned. Perhaps I should have seen that coming, but for some reason it just didn't occur to me. I think it was clever and emotional and fitting. But part of me is glad the ending is just a little open-ended, too. (Though, I also think the end of book 3 hit harder for me, personally.)And, of course, I still very much enjoyed the world and the characters in this one. The plot did pick up in this last book so that all the pieces finally merged together for the final climaxes of the story. But it still kept that familial, yearning, home-focused feeling that I loved from the first three.I'm excited to read the Wingfeather tales next! This was a fun saga and I'm really glad I did finally read them. There's no foul language and very little MG romance. There's some mild fantasy violence and thematically the story deals with a lot of brokenness--abandonment, love vs. hate, bitterness, forgiveness, freedom, power, etc. I'd recommend the book for 10/12+.

Enthralling and attention grabbing
These books are really amazing and very well written. My grandsons begged for the next book as we completed each volume. They capture the imagination and also show a clear picture of right and wrong, good and evil. Thoroughly enjoying them. I recommend you buy the whole set up front, because once one volume has been read, your child will want to jump right in to the next one. Hoping the author comes out with some new books soon.

Fantastic
Peterson takes the reader on an epic journey of discovery as the Wingfeathers become your friends, more like family. I was gripped by the battles, adventure, and redemption—each guiding me further along in my desire to rest in the Maker.

one of the best series ever written!
My children and I will talk about this series from their childhood all through out their adulthood. This story line is unmatched. The character development and surprising twists and turns were constant. It was beautiful and heartbreaking at times. So many experiences were given to the reader that most people will never taste in their normal world. It taught about bravery, courage, hope, brokenness, forgiveness and redemption. I can’t share this with others enough. Well done Andrew Peterson, well done. We are forever fans.

Best series we’ve read yet!
I had to take a moment to say I read all four books in this series to my kids who are 8 and 7. The literary quality is amazing and I was able to explain vocabulary where needed and also explain passages if I needed to my younger audience. Because my kids are a little younger, I did have to explain a few passages here and there. We laughed. We cried several times throughout the series. I got goosebumps several times as there were battles and courage of adults and children.I’d liken this series to Little Pilgrims progress or The Chronicles of Narnia. The kids will reference the book often. I feel a little sad that Andrew Peterson doesn’t have another series for us to delve into!I would mention that these books would be better for an older child around 10-12 if they are reading it independently. This would’ve been difficult for my 8 year old to tackle all on his own, but as a family read aloud book, it was as good as watching a movie together. We just really enjoyed every book in the series and I highly recommend it!

Was not expecting a tear-jerker
I have read these to my grandsons & have enjoyed this series immensely. This final book lead to a discussion of the sacrifice of Jesus, but also of Abraham’s testing with Isaac. I am not ashamed to say I shed several tears throughout the reading of this family saga.Thank you for a wonderful adventure. We would delighted if more books are coming!

Great series!
I purchased this series for my daughter, but as with all of her books either myself or my wife read them as well. I enjoyed each of the four books, and the binding/cover/artwork are great.

Such a phenomenal end to the series
This series of books has such depth and complexity in it. Christian underlying tones are embedded throughout the story, allowing readers to discuss themes of loyalty, sacrifice, bravery, hope, and the juxtaposition of light vs. darkness. Our family just finished reading it and will absolutely be reading the series again to identify more elements we know we missed the first time around. Such a beautiful story… and be ready for tears to come in the end. :)

Amazing
This book is really good. There is a bunch of plot twists and confusing things that will make you read the whole thing n minutes.*SPOILER ALERT*I did nlt like the ending though because Janner dies. Well i dont really mind that I just don't like how we dont know what happens on the adventure. And if i am the only one who wanted to see what would happen between Sara and Janner, ill go crazy.I mean who doesnt want too see them get together?!Besideds that, this book was one of the best ive ever read (and thats saying a lot)Definite Buy!
