I ordered 5 of these in total over two separate orders. They are great when they work but I found 3 of the five had issues with either the right or left channel. Often had to "jiggle" the volume control nob to get both to work. Returned 1 without issue but the other two I am getting no response from them. So much for the "Lifetime hassle free guarantee".

Just put these in however the whole system isn't complete to test them out. I'll update later. I thought I'd researched well enough but I ran 14 gauge wire and wish I'd gone with 16-18 as it was hard getting the strands to all fit in the terminals. The actual control knobs don't sit all the way down on the faceplate. You can see about a quarter inch of the brass control stem when you look at them from a side view. The knobs don't stay on snugly either. I bought four volume controls and one of the sets was missing the metal (female) shaft in the knob so it doesn't stay on at all and I had to use the almond colored knob (white and almond facing are provided) on that switch. It was straight forward to install. I was advised to use a 4 conductor wire to go from the Amp to the Volume control which is a good idea because you don't have to squish as many cords into the electrical box. You split the four wires at the input terminal using the red for positive, black negative, white positive and green negative. Then you use two separate speaker cables at the output terminal. So, I'm hoping I can get some resolution to my knob issues with customer service and that the system will sound wonderful.

Aside from very small and shallow holes for the wire inserts this is a very good product. A little pricey but the cheaper ones I bought didn't work well. This will completely mute sound if you turn it all the way down and has very good incremental volume increases. If the wire inserts were deeper I would give it 5 stars.

This volume controller was used to replace an older (generic) model. Although the wiring architecture was virtually the same, the volume controller contained more "volume" steps and were much easier to move between the stops. Great output to the speakers.
