I added a small round key holder to put lock on so it didn’t have to be removed from flimsy material which would have ripped quickly. That solved the problem but would have been better if engineered better.

I ordered this for my daughter. First one came without the lock and key. She was so disappointed. We returned and tried again. Second one came with a broken lock and the place where you would put the lock on the journal was sewn or glued shut so she couldn't use the lock anyway! Even if the loop were open, it would be very flimsy and easily ripped. Poor quality overall. We are going to try another brand.
