With so many 'affordable' chess sets on Amazon, and after being caught more than a few times by flash photo's and clever write ups I was expecting the worse and hoping for the best with this purchase.But I was surprised that the chess set is pretty good quality, the pieces more than acceptable. You don't have to worry about this as a gift for someone as it's very, very nice.

I am very pleased with this chess set that I purchased for our grandkids. I especially like the folding playing board that also stores the chess pieces when folded. Each piece gets held down by wide elastic in its own slot. The kids enjoy putting all the pieces back when the game is over. When opened, the two halves of the board line up well. Each chess piece is nicely made. The bonus is that there is a full set of extra pieces for each color. The entire set fits nicely into a handsome storage bag, which is also included. The adults are enjoying the chess set as much as the kids.You get a lot for the money. I definitely recommend this set for family chess games. It should give years of enjoyment.Oh, and it arrived earlier than I expected, which was very fast.
