Affordable and stackable but slips are tight and likely to break a thumbnail
One of a small number of similar storage systems for single drive units - these are for 3.5-inch drives only and moderately padded internally for additional protection against jarring, falls etc although it can never be total. A comparable system exists for most 2.5-inch HDDs (possibly excluding those deeper than 9mm) and SSDs. These cases can be stored on a shelf - they are stackable - in a drawer or within a larger storage box and most have a system of labelling that may allow the brand, model and capacity as well as a general description of its contents, unit number (1 of 10, etc) or otherwise as appropriate. These are also anti-static, thus avoiding that potential occurrence. A set of spare labels is also provided should one or more cases be repeatedly re-used with different contents. There is a strip of firm sponge within the lid that helps ensure that the contained drive will not shake once within; the case is quite a tight fit, otherwise. The closure clips are tight enough to break a thumbnail or two, some much tighter than others to open and not all close as freely as they are presumably intended to. However, they are very well priced. The main alternative is to use one of the several aluminium-bodied storage cases (there are various formats available) with slots or dividers to separate the individual units. Some will accept 3.5 and 2.5-inch units, others also MM2 and other such more modern storage device formats. That type of case provides an element of security in that most can be locked (cheap, basic locks, usually) but they are considerably more expensive and inherently more bulky while also being easily portable should that ever be a specific requirement. While a set was initially required to store the drives from a RAID array that has now been expanded to a higher capacity, it was later realised that several other HDDs of various capacities are currently stored in larger boxes and consuming far more storage space than is necessary; a second identical set was later ordered for those.

Great product and a really good price
Does exactly what they should at a better price that some of the others on Amazon, (if you can put up with all the assorted colours,) which I did not mind.Disks slide it the top & are held securely when the clip is closed as it has a bit of padding on it. Also had extra labels for the front of the boxes.

Case closed
They're boxes. They close securely. They come with labels. They really thought of everything.Oh, and they're all different colours. Which is nice. Will buy again .

Doubtful about longevity
The boxes themselves are reasonably sturdy but I won't be surprised if the hinges and / or the clips fail before too long. I think they are a little pricey for what they are.
