My last review I stated "was not as advertised" because it was not double-sided adhesive. I was sent a replacement instead of receiving a refund. I was out of town so by the time I realized it, I was stuck with one and able to return the other (based upon expiration return date). Anyway, I purchased a new phone dashboard holder for the car and it came with an additional sticky disk holder. Carefully, reading the instructions, I realized it is double-sided adhesive. The illustration showed how to remove both film coverings. I thought there was only one film to remove. So, so sorry. : ( THE DASHBOARD PAD MOUNTING DISK WORKS PERFECTLY!!! : )

THIS is your answer. Clean the dash well where you want to install it, peel the tape backing off and stick it on. The double sided tape holds it securely and the new, smooth surface will hold the suction base of your holder well.

With the weight of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I decided to mount my phone holder to the dashboard of my work truck, instead of the windshield. Since it’s the dead of winter in Washington DC I had to be thoughtful in the installation. I first got my dash board warm by running the defrost on high on my way into work. I placed the disk in my pocket to warm up, then washed the area well where I decided to place it. I used 2 alcohol wipes inspecting each pass for cleanliness. While the alcohol dried I put the disk on the heater vent for a few minutes then peeled the plastic off and stuck it where I needed it. I also had access to a 20 pound stainless steel bearing from a tunnel boring machine that could apply equal weight to the disk and when I wasn’t driving that day, rested this weight on it for the 24 hours that is required to cure. Needless to say, in the 3 days since installation and despite the extreme cold, and lousy roads in the capital, it is still holding. I’m happy with the purchase.

I use it for my car screen. It works well at the beginning but loses the adhesion a few days later.

Volport Dsanboard Pad was installed on a flat dashboard section of a 2018 Toyota RAV4 that had been cleaned with Isopropyl alcohol. Pad installation was left undisturbed for 48 hours with a 2lb (0.91k) weight holding it in place. Within one (1) week the "3M" adhesive pad released from the dashboard and the "witness marks" on the 3M adhesive pad confirmed that the 3M adhesive pad only had ~10% contact. I repeated the entire installation process again with another 3M adhesive pad from the kit with the same disappointing results. No response from the seller despite multiple requests to their support team through the Amazon store.

I had to position one of these on a slight slope on the dashboard, near the side window. Glad I didn't get it wrong and no way will I ever get it off! It is stuck firm, doesn't move, despite only 3/4 being stuck down and perfect for the sucker thing on my phone cradle. Mine is tucked to the side, but the shiny surface might be an issue in the middle of hte dashboard.
