Absolutely... You can replace batteries and unit will continue to play existing recording. No re-recording needed.

How big of a stuffed animal would be needed to fit this? E.g. Too big for a 12" bear?

Dimensions for this product are about 2.5 inch x 2 inch x 1.25 inch (64 mm x 50 mm x 32 mm). 12 inch bear should have more than plenty space to fit the sound box inside. We used to offer 8 inch plush toy with this exact sound box.

Can I record just a voice message directly on it without hooking to computer?

Basically you need to record your voice to your device (iphone, cell phone, PC, tablet, MAC, etc), and them transfer it to the sound box. The reason, you do not record your voice to the box directly, but record to your device first is to have much better sound quality by utilizing recording features of advanced/expensive device like iphone, PC, MAC, etc. The sound modules/boxes that you can record your voice directly will not give you good sound quality.

Can you make it to where that it’s not a continuous recording rather you keep clicking it an it has multiple phrases or recordings or no?
