Found the perfit fit for me.
I had been considering Surefire light for a while, but size was always an issue. I wanted a light that I could fit in my front pocket. The only light I would consider was the backup model light from surefire, but the backup is expensive for me. I have a surefire X300 ultra weapon light and love it, so I was hesitant to stray from the quality I know surefire manufactures. Then I found the Olight brand. I went with the M10 Maverick. The maverick utilizes the latest Cree XM-L2 LED. This light is very impressive on high mode and the low is just low enough not to ruin you night vision when you turn the light back off. I can fit this light in my front pocket with the pocket clip and carry it without even knowing it is there. I keep the light on low and then you can double tap the tail cap and it goes instantly to high mode. The light does have a medium mode but I do not use that much but do see where it would be useful if you needed the light on for a longer period and not drain the battery. I am considering modifying the pocket clip, it is very aggressive. It is difficult to get the upper tab over some of my jeans and fully seated to the end of the clip. The upper tab is usually not there in other pocket clips. You can see it in the pictures of the light. It is there to help keep the light in your pocket, but I do not need that much holding power. It is easily removed and now I am complaining about a small detail about a great light. If you need a small light this is the one.

Good Tac Light: Brittle clip which broke in 30 seconds
Within 30 seconds of owning the light I broke the clip. I wanted to switch the light to button up carry because its a more natural way to take a light out of your pocket and it is advertised as a two position carry clip. So I pulled the clip off, no issue, then while snapping it back on to the light in the reversed direction (at the same place between the hexagonal portion and knurled grip area it snapped right where one of the fingers which holds the light meets the flat u shaped portion which clips to your pants. I'm very disappointed and don't recommend this for carry seeing as it would appear the clip material can't take any abuse. the flashlight itself is 4-5 stars losing points only to its bulkiness and the fact that the cheaper Olight S10 is brighter and smaller (albeit designed for a different purpose). On a different note my light appears to be an older? newer version? than the one pictured on the amazon page. The phosphorescent ring which is pictured as red online is blue on mine and the model number on the barrel is stylized different, maybe I received old stock which had this issue. Hopefully I can get a new clip and reevaluate based on that.

On paper this is a great light. In practice
On paper this is a great light. In practice, I have three issues, one that could be worked around, one that was a subjective opinion and one that is a deal breaker.- My first issue is that the switch on the butt of the light is unprotected. This meant that more than once, in fact quite often, the light was either momentarily activated or fully on. This is less than ideal for battery life. I couldn't carry it dropped in a pocket. Even though I tried clipping it to my pocket, I still had the same issue. I suppose given enough time I might have found a way to work around it, but it did not meet my intended purpose of an EDC flashlight.- Secondly, the light didn't seem to have the brightness I was expecting. I was hoping to relegate my older Fenix PD20 to backup duty but this light didn't appear to have the same level of brightness. I realize that without empirical measurement, this amounts to an opinion. But I wanted to mention it nonetheless.- Finally, the deal breaker. The light stopped working. Something in the switch means that it may or may not turn on when you click or push and hold the switch. Mostly, it doesn't go on. Or, no matter the switch position, it only goes on momentarily. To be fair, I never contacted Olight about this but right now, the light just sits in a drawer.

Nice Light but dishonest advertising really only 250 lumens
This is a great flashlight. I love the compact size and light weight. I use it for an every day carry light. I love how bright it is. I like the controls. There are three brightness settings and one strobe setting. It seems to be high quality construction despite being made in China. The box says there is a 5 year warrenty. I love how the button on the side and a little ring on the inside near the bulb glows in the dark after it is turned off. I am happy with my purchase. However; The 350 lumen rating is why I purchased this but it is really a 250 lumen flashlight. This looses one star for not quite honest advertising. This is based off the small instruction manual included with the light. The little instruction sheet has a graph of output in lumens vs. time. The output starts out at about 350 lumens with a brand new battery but it will only be that bright for the first 5 minutes of use--based on the graph they show in their own instruction manual. After 5 minutes it has already dropped to 300 lumens; after 10 minutes of use it has dropped all the way to 250 lumens. The light does stay at about 250 lumens for 1 hour and 20 minutes. So at least it is still a very nice and bright light for that long when on high. If on medium power only it runs at 100 lumens for about 7 hours. The low setting says it is only 5 lumens and will run for 108 hours.Pros: Very light weight and small, nice high quality design and construction, nice and bright even at only 250 lumens. Nice distance throw and even light beam quality. Nice light color--not blue or yellow just seems to be pure white light. I like that it runs off of CR123 batteries because you cannot get a compact flashlight to be this bright with standard AA or AAA batteries.Cons: Dishonest--only stays at 350 lumens for 5 minutes with fresh battery. Cannot focus the beam. Was still fairly expensive at $50 but not as expensive as some. This is my first high quality compact tactical light so I don't have anything to compare it to.Having said all that I am going to keep the light and I like it. Just keep in mind that you are buying a 250 lumen light for all practical purposes. Still bright enough for a tactical light in my opinion and one I will be carrying around daily because it is so small!
