Started off Bad - Ended up Great
The media could not be loaded. Picked this generator as it was only 3 days to get; reviews good, and had high power output for the money. First issue was the three day delivery ended up being 1 1/2 weeks - no doubt due to extreme demand due to the massive storms that did so much damage on west coast - reason I ordered in fact. It came all the way from east coast. Would not start after I followed directions. I'd advise anyone who pulls more than a few times to open it up; no need to put in the 30+ pulls I did. On opening it was clear that spark plug was broken. On close examination, it looks like there was corrosion present during manufacturing - see photo. A new plug (ngk brand) from amazon arrived in a couple of days; and ONE PULL started right up. There was some shattered glass around the plug hole I got out with adhesive tape on end of a stick - in retrospect I should have used a small tube connected to a shop vac. I did a break in - and it ran for nearly four hours on a quarter tank. I tested with progression of loads. No problem at 13.1 amp; at 17 amps I got the red 'overload light' but still output power for a couple of minutes - which would be what was needed for a 'start' load for a refer for example. After that, the power output shut off and error light came on. This requires a restart to clear. After the four hour break in, I drained the oil.It was really dirty, with lots of metal sheen - see pix. Put in fresh oil, drained the remaining gas - so easy with drain line and valve already installed by mfgr; and then put the rig away for some future need. I reported my spark plug problem and the manufacturer was very responsive. They offered to send a new plug and gave me a break on cost. This was much better than me sending unit back - so a win win. I'm very pleased with quick response from Genkins, and have found this to be a well designed unit and a great value. If you buy this unit - make sure you 'break it in' and then change the oil! This is not in the directions but necessary for long service. The directions also say 'check battery' if it won't start - that's meaningless as there is no battery; check the spark plug!

Great little generator!
I've been off-grid solar since the Dark Ages.... so I've had my share of backup generators, and this is the best so far! Last one was a Predator 2400 watt, about 8 years old and getting tired. What an improvement. This generator is very light. I couldn't believe it when I picked it up. I have only used it 4 or 5 times, but so far it has literally started first pull, every time. The fuel gauge is super handy, it's very quiet (for a generator) and the integrated choke on/off switch is also handy and sensible. It bogs and waivers very little, if at all, whereas the old Predator was all over the place. An appropriately weird-shaped oil funnel is also included, and makes a finicky job much easier. Great generator, and wow the price is terrific. Very nice. I'll be sure to update if any problems come up, but so far so good.

great product
Firstly, the generator was supposed to arrive Friday 9/10/2021. It actually got her the 9th. Kudos to your shipping department. I unboxed it and read the clearly written instructions. After adding gas and oil, I pulled the starter cord twice and it fired right up. It was much quieter than I expected. I let it run for about an hour under no load to allow everything to tested out. Then I put it under a light load for about 30 minutes. The next day we started a 3 day camping trip with our 19' camper trailer. The site was primitive, no sewer, no water, and no electrical. I have solar cells as well, so they will charge the battery. But I cannot run the TV, DVD player microwave, coffee pot, toaster, or small cooling fans off of the battery. The generator easily ran all of those 110V appliances, as well as maintaining a charge on the battery so I did not need to break out the solar package. . It will run the rooftop AC unit, fan only. However, when the compressor kicks in the generator shuts down. That is not a deal breaker. The weather was great so we were fine without the AC. All in all, A+ rating. A great deal for the price and a great little generator.

It's quiet, but not that quiet...
It's sounds more like a street motorcycle idling, and louder under load, definitely not as quiet as the small Honda generators. But it is quiet enough that I basically can only hear it as a distance background hum inside the house with it running 10' behind the house. This is powerful enough to run my refrigerator and my water booster pump (800 watt) when I lose grid power (PG&E shutoffs are common). However, trying to run pump+refrigerator+swamp cooler sends it into overload, and you have to turn it off, reduce the load, and start it back up to reset it to run again. But that is definitely over it's rated capacity, so I just need something bigger if I want that capacity. Great price, decent manual and setup instructions, tested it and it works fine. I'm not that strong but it has a great handle and really easy to lift and move around.
