Under Falling Skies | Czech Games Edition | Solo Game

Have played several games over the last few days since receiving this and boy is it good! Bought at the same time as a few other solo games but this has kept me coming back for “just one more game”. Setup is quick and easy, rules are simple to grasp and the game play is fast paced. Quality of the boards and figures are good. Box is quite weighty with all the campaign pieces so perhaps not a game if you want to play when travelling! Basically, the game is Space invaders in a table top format. There are three distinct phases in the gameplay: Dice phase - strategic placement of the dice in the rooms of your underground base. This also allows the enemy ships in that particular column to decend by the value of each die. Rooms phase - carry out the actions of the rooms you have placed the dice on (generate energy, activate fighters, create research points or excavate your underground base further opening up new rooms for use) Mothership phase - the mothership drops one row and has a consequence action you need to carry out (additional enemy ships released, loss of research points or retreat of the excavator). Gameplay on the Roswell starter level is about 20-30 minutes. The board is quite long so make sure you have plenty room on your table for the setup (approx 70cm) Aside from the basic game there is also a campaign to get your teeth stuck into. I’ve yet to venture into the campaign elements as there is still variety in the base game to keep me going for a good while yet! Each throw of the dice gets you thinking how to make the best possible play and the pressure builds as the alien ships get closer to your base. It’s also very replayable, with no two games alike. A thoroughly enjoyable game which is steadily becoming my go to solo fix. Price is good for what you get in the box (£29). A thumbs up from me 👍🏻

This is my first solo board game and I did not know what to expect really but this game has been a lot of fun and I’ve been back to it for many tries since my purchase. A lot of replayability and strategy to it once you understand the mechanics. Not a hard game to learn either.

this is a game I have never seen before. It is quite problemmatic to polay but it will give me polenty of pleasure. Thank you for the trade.

This is a great solo game crossed between space invaders and dice placements. You start with the base game and play it a few times so you know what you are doing then move on to the big campaign.

I'm not usually a solo player but this has made me want to try more solitaire games. There's nothing to stop this being a cooperative game as well though. Very easy to pick up. The guide is very well thought out. If you flip the mothership over there's a quick guide on the back. My only complaint is this would have worked better as a player aid as my eyesight isn't the best. 👀 What a blast! I just lost my first game but I'm ready to try again now I know what I'm doing and I feel confident! Maybe less so when I get stuck into the campaign but the first battle I think I've got in the bag! ☺️ The box is surprisingly heavy. You get a lot of content here. Tons of replayability. New content is slowly revealed but I'm told the campaign still doesn't reveal everything. So I see myself playing this many many times to see every combination... Lastly there's a great log to record your wins or losses in the campaign. Nice to keep a track I think. A keeper! 👍

I play a lot of solo board games and this quite simply the best out there. Fantastic design and mechanics make this my number one. An absolute ton of content including a campaign so will keep you playing for ages. Amazing. Buy it now.

Super Solospiel! Macht echt Spaß, ist sehr abwechslungsreich, wird aber mit den späteren Missionen echt schwer!

Per chi ricorda il famoso videogioco questo è un must. sembra davvero di giocare a space invaders. Il meccanismo è moplto ben studiato e equilibrato, settando la dificoltò si ottine e il livello di sfida desiderato. Ottima la campagna, peccato sia solo giocabile in solitaria.

For the game 5 star! Lots of fun playing. Great Solo experience, tight win or loose. Played 4 times the day i received it. Packaging from Amazon SG was not good, a simple plastic bag no bubbles for minimum protection. I'm lucky only a corner was dented and not more. I know people might mind more then me so I added picture.
