They simultaneously offer multiple generations of this product, for the same price. Unfortunately I first purchased Gen2 before I realized this. Gen2 needs to be plugged in a certain way to fully function and the magnetic connection falls out too easily.Now I must say these Gen10 cables are very nice. They have a very snug connection, can be plugged in either direction, and are very well made nylon braided cables. The side light is also a nice touch that looks nicer than most cables single top light on one side.If it wasn't for the fact I had to purchase Gen2 first, which was worthless, it would be five stars all the way.

I absolutely love these cables. I love that I can have one charger at my desk and be able to charge different devices on the same cord. I bought extra type C USB ports for my phone, micro USB for the kids tablets, and an iPhone charge port for my wife, and we can all use the same cord (at different times, of course). I love that they support data transfer and rapid charging. What's really great about this charger system, my extended family and friends won't "accidentally" steal my charger cables anymore because they won't work without the magnetic charge port. The port also sits flush with the phone case and provides extra protection by keeping dust and pocket lint from collecting inside the charge port.

Before these, my daughter went through literal dozens of charging cables for her tablets because she would end up breaking the connector off (we also lost a few tablets due to charging ports breaking). I tried a different brand of magnetic chargers and the connectors would fall out of the tablet and the magnets were very weak. These have been wonderful. The connector stays in her tablet and she can safely attach the cord when needed. With her case, the connectors are far enough in that they can't be knocked or moved to damage the port and if she turns it at too much of an angle, the cable just disconnects instead of breaking off, but the magnet is plenty strong enough to stay in place under regular use.

Awesome cables. I wish I would have known about these a long time ago. It seems like I replace micro USB cables weekly because the tip no longer locks in place and have to jiggle the cord to get them charging. That's not the case with these. Just leave the tips in the charging ports permanently and pull out the cable leaving the tips in place when the items charged. No more loose tips. I would rate these 10 stars if I could.

some cables can charge some devices but not others; the wires in certain charging directions of the connectors or the cables must be deteriorating. otherwise, this makes charging devices very very easy.
