I'm both amused and horrified that I have the option to add a photo or video to this product review. I'll decline to add that level of detail, but admit that I'm morbidly curious to follow the reviews for awhile to see who does.In any case, this tank additive does an outstanding job of reducing traffic in the black tank, and creating a certain uniformity of consistency in the end product - without the use of a macerator. I tried a few of the brand name drop-in versions, and the see-through sewer elbow indicated that multiple tank flushes were required to remove formations of "Marine/RV" TP, whereas 1-2 tank flushes revealed clear water when using this product.

I'll start by saying that this product works very well for its intended purpose. It controls odors and keeps the black tank reasonably clean. My reason for knocking off one star is for the difficulty in measuring a dose. I've had to resort to using a ruler and a sharpie to mark off increments on the side of the bottle. Given the price of the product, that's annoying and I wish they'd address it by adding dosing marks to the side of the bottle.

The problem with reviewing a product like this is that its impossible to know if it is actually doing what it claims. All I know for sure after finishing my first bottle is that I have just dumped $20 down the toilet. Maybe my tank is better off than if I had been using some other product, maybe not. I have a new fifth wheel and didn't have any odor problems before so I don't know if it controls odor better. The challenge for me is using the product as instructed. First, I don't know how to measure 1/2 ounce. I clearly over estimated because I went through the bottle in about 6 cycles. I don't want to have to use a measuring device to apply the right amount of toilet juice. It would be nice if the bottle had a self measuring spout. Secondly, the instructions say don't flush your tank and leave the bottom and don't fully empty the tank - leave the bottom of the tank covered. How am I supposed to know when to stop dumping? I cant see into my tank (thankfully). And besides, I like flushing and fully emptying my tank. All that being said though, I'll probably buy it again.

This product was recommended by the dealership when I first bought my RV. I used it and had no smells and everything broke down in the tanks as needed. When I ran out I bought the Happy Campers RV tank treatment since it had such great reviews. The Happy Campers treatment is NOT as good as this product. Now I have smells seeping out of the tank, especially when I flush. I am going back to using this stuff.

You need to give this product a chance, if your black tank isn’t healthy because you’ve been using chemicals, it may take longer for the good bacteria to flourish. It does not happen overnight. Use heavier doses at first to establish a good viable colony. I’ve had enough microbiology to know how the works. Use plenty of water. I love this tankrx. Will never ever go back to the blue formaldehyde stuff.

NO IDEA whether this product actually does anything at all. Could very well be snake oil for all I can tell. We waited two weeks and everything worked out, but we ended up filling the black tank with water so that alone may have solved the problem.Since then we have solved 100% of our black tank problems by keeping the tank 2/3 full of water at ALL TIMES. Dump the black tank completely, dump the gray tank completely, then refill the black tank to 2/3 level. Done. No need for $30 brown mystery goo.

I’ve been using tank tec for two years or more and it’s the only treatment on the market that any good I’ve used every other treatment available and have suffered severe respiratory problems as a result tank tec eliminates the problems associated with the black tank and greasy water tank 100% if you own any kind of RV you’ll need this product I highly recommend tank tec.

This product is helping, but will not fix your sensors on your rig. You may have to repeat a few times for the product to take effect. Seems to work well, I would buy it again. Safe for any Rv tank.
