## Overview

The Bug Bite Thing Suction Tool offers a clinically proven, chemical-free method to relieve insect bites and stings by suctioning out irritants like mosquito saliva. Compact and reusable, it’s designed for easy use by the whole family, making it an essential, portable solution for natural bite relief during outdoor activities.

## Description

Product description HELPS ALLEVIATE ITCHING + SWELLING FROM BUG BITES AND STINGS Bug Bite Thing is a suction tool that alleviates the itching, stinging, and swelling from bug bites and stings. How? It extracts the insect saliva/venom left behind under the skin. When you remove the irritant, your body stops producing the reaction. A chemical-free solution for bites and stings? It’s a thing! For First Aid Only: In the event of an allergic reaction, severe bite, or infection, seek medical attention immediately. Bug Bite Thing was founded in 2017 by Kelley Higney and her mother Ellen McAlister, a seasoned entrepreneur. Kelley’s daughters, like her, were both “mosquito magnets.” After many failed attempts to find relief by using creams and trying home remedies, Kelley decided to research how other countries combat insect bites. She discovered an innovative product that used suction to remove the insect saliva/venom and eliminate the itching, stinging, and swelling, instead of masking the symptoms. Amazed by the effectiveness of the product, Kelley knew she had to make it readily available and offer other families relief. In October 2019, Kelley and Ellen appeared on ABC’s hit show, “Shark Tank” and pitched to the Sharks to invest in their business. After receiving offers from all the Sharks, they decided to strike a deal with Lori Greiner. Since appearing on “Shark Tank,” Bug Bite Thing’s business has flourished and the company is on its way to becoming a global household name.

Review: I adore this thing, in spite of my face hickey (it was my fault) - This is the second one I have bought for our household. I won’t go outside without it. We are recent transplants to Florida, and these are the meanest mosquitoes I’ve ever met. Sure, the Louisiana mosquitoes are the size of hummingbirds, but they’re not real go-getters unless you’re in the swamp. These Florida mosquitoes are sociopathic. Insanely aggressive and their bites are nasty and itchy. AND THEY ARE IN OUR BACKYARD! Two days ago I was in the yard and was attacked by a gang of these creatures. They dive-bombed me from all angles and chomped down on me more or less simultaneously. Side note: At the same time I learned that “natural” bug repellent made with essential oils might work on less ambitious mosquitoes, but it didn’t work with these. I ran inside to avoid further attack and grabbed the Bug Thing. I had a huge bite on my forehead (one of 12 bites in total), and it itched like crazy. I didn’t want to do to my face what I did to my arm a few years ago, scratching like a maniac while I slept and ending up with a scarred arm and blood-stained sheets. So I busted out the Bug Thing. In my eagerness to get rid of the itching, and because the bite was big, I kept the suction going for a long time. Too long, as it turns out. I didn’t read the instructions with our first Bug Thing, because it seemed self-explanatory, but the devil’s always in the details, isn’t it? Turns out, there’s a big fat warning about not using it on your face. Who knew? (Everyone who read the instructions, but not the girl with the big purple circle on her forehead.) I regret NOTHING. This thing works amazingly well, and so what if I have a quarter-sized love bite on my forehead? Big whoop. THE BUG THING IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ITCHING. Bruises go away; scars from fingernails, not so much. Another word of advice: I bought several of a knock-off brand, thinking, “It’s a plastic barrel with a plunger, how hard could it be to replicate?” I guess fairly hard, because the knock-offs were flimsy and I couldn’t really get a good vacuum with them. I mean, I guess I wouldn’t have been able to suck a ridiculous bruise to the surface of my face with one of the knock-offs, but I probably wouldn’t have been able to suck the itch juice out of my skin, either. I’d much rather have a bruise than a bite. Anyway, this thing is awesome, just don’t use it on your face…or do. I would100% do it again.
Review: Stop those itchy bugs - I saw this on Shark Tank and thought that if it worked it would be worth the money. I seem to be prone to bug bites. Well I testify it does work. I haven't tried it for wasp or bee, but it works for mosquitoes and that it good enough for me. All my grandchildren ages 8 and up used it as well, and stopped itching those pesky mosquito bites. No battery, it was easy for all of us to use. It's a good size to put in your first aide kit when you are camping or hiking.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this work for chiggers?**
A: People seem to be confusing ticks and chiggers. One of the biggest myths or misconceptions about chiggers is that they can burrow under your skin and drink your blood. This leads to the common treatment for chiggers of putting clear nail polish on chigger bites to suffocate the chiggers. Since chiggers don't actually burrow under your skin, this 'treatment' is unnecessary. But chiggers don't even really bite you in the traditional sense as a mosquito does. Instead, they attach themselves to your skin, inject saliva with digestive enzymes that help to break down your skin cells, which the chigger then drinks. It is these enzymes that cause the itchy rash. So yes this will be effective for chigger bites as it will remove the enzyes.

**Q: Do you have to use right away or can you use it a day later?**
A: I used it 2 days later. Big unsightly bites. I used it a few times, partly because I was new to the product. My daughter as well. No itch. It helped 2 bites heal faster out of 3 on me.

**Q: All of the reviews mention mosquito bites, does it also work for spider bites? Also, how soon after the bite does it need to be applied?**
A: Hello David, Yes! Bug Bite Thing works great on Spider Bites, but should not be used for Brown Recluse or Black Widow bites. It also works great for Ants, Bees, Wasps, Black Flies, Fleas & other biting insects. We recommend using the suction pump as soon as you notice a bite or sting to prevent the reaction from getting worse. However, Bug Bite Thing CAN still be used days after a bite or sting. -BBT Team

**Q: How do you use this to remove a bee’s stinger please?**
A: Be careful removing the stinger and the attached venom sacs. Do not push on it(scrape) as that might inject more venom. Carefully remove stinger and then apply suction.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely worth Trying! It may help you!

As I get older mosquito bites are becoming a real problem. I hate bug spray but forced to use it constantly. If you use this shortly after you discover your itching from a bite 8 times out of 10 it should work. Prevents the bite from going further and never bothering you again or at least diminishes the itch so much that it’s not a problem anymore. Leaves a ring that disappears quick enough on your skin. For elderly adults I would caution to not leave the suction too long for I could see it bruising their skin. I keep it in my bag and feel happy to be able to help myself should I get a bite. Not hard to use and may give you relief. Worth checking out. It’s an ok price. I will see how long this gadget lasts. But I get the impression it’s not going to lose its suction might anytime soon .
