Great Sights-direct 'drop-in' for my S&W Shield
Had to get a lighter sprung semi as I had not been shooting for four yr due to a re-lapse of some tropical maladies. One side effect was losing a lot of muscle tone so got a 'Shield Performance Center Easy' model while I've started lifting weights. I like the gun but it seems unless you spend $2000+, the mfrs are going to cheap out a bit on the sights to save a few bucks. Bought a set of Truglo Tritium/Fiber Rods and the install was one screw -no sight drifting or pressing and the position and height is spot on. great sights esp. if your eyes are getting older.

Product works, but see below for important specifics
Product looks good and yes, it does light up at night (tritium feature). However, they litepipes only seem to glow green under direct sunlight or other very bright overhead lights. From my phone conversation with HiViz customer service, I would like to pass on my new education on this product. The tritium (night feature) is built in to the front of the litepipe, therefore, according to the company (from an email): "The tritium is housed in front of the litepipes making the litepipes glow in complete darkness. The litepipes in the sights cannot be changed per federal regulations the sights need to be permanently manufactured." Therefore, if you're thinking about changing out the piping, sorry, can't do that, physically or legally. Therefore, make sure of the color combination you want - there are two options out there. Is this a bad product, most defiantly not, I think it's a very good product and idea. As to how well they work for me, these aging eyes just need more light. To a younger person, these will, I'm sure, work better. I do believe they are better than the OEM sights. Would I recommend them, that's a totally individual decision. As the old joke goes: "your mileage/results may vary". In closing, I don't think there's any product out there that will make these senior eyes see how they'd like to. I will say this, I was very positively impressed (A+) with the gentleman I spoke with on the phone today in customer service. I hope I've provided information for others to be able to make an informed decision.

Don't buy the orange, buy the green.
Here's the straight story on these. You'll order them thinking they'll be swell but the orange rear sight barely glows. The scientific reason for this is that the human eye has 3 times more green receptors than red. So the red looks dim but the green glows brightly when in reality, they're both glowing the same amount.Oh, and Amazon won't take them back, period.Just get the green ones and save yourself the hassle.

Above average upgrade over standard 3-white dot sights
Above average night sights. Overall they look neat, and get extremely bright with direct sunlight or in extreme dark. In regular lighting there isn’t much of a glue, but the bright colors allow for a quick sight picture. It’s possible to get better quality sights that are extremely bright all the time, but for a much more premium cost. All things considered, these are a solid upgrade or the standard 3-white dot sights for under $100.

The orange is very dim, get the all-green
Installation is easy with the right tools. The rear sight is quickly replaced or adjusted using an allen wrench. The front I used a sight pusher paired with a short nylon punch to push only the dovetail section (per instructions to only push the dovetail). The front green sight works great. The rear orange sight is very dim and difficult to see in dark or regular lighting situations. Tried contacting the manufacturer about it and got one-sentence, neanderthal-like answers. Wondering if they’re even US based. Get the set with all green dots, or try to find a better quality set from another company.
