Freddie King - Blues Legend (Live in Europe) [DVD]

Hard to go wrong with Freddie King. Truly a five star dvd.

this is a must have item for Freddie King enthusiasts. The three performances flow well and are nothing short of entertaining. King lives up to his Texas Cannonball moniker. The band and King speak for themselves. Top notch quality

Love the Blues...

"A viewer's" review pretty much sums up a lot for me about the audio quality. It's unfortunate that the Montreux show has some tech. problems onstage, because it's the best audience he plays to in this collection. The other two shows are from Sweden, and the audience just isn't in to it compared to the Swiss and other King DVD's from these years. King and the band(tight as always) still give great shows, but the audience is really subdued."Live in Dallas" is the still the best Freddie King DVD I've got. This one makes a good companion DVD to the "Sugar Bowl" DVD, which is better.

Sure the playing is great but the video quality is poor and the sound is bad. The sound track is mono. Shoddy camera work is annoying. I'm going to order a different Freddie King now. I wish Amazon would give more information about sound tracks, whether stereo, mono, 5.1 Dolby Digital or DTS, etc.

I have been bearing the in mind for months.....finally bought it! Then I realized it's NTSC, and thought it wouldn't play in England where I live (PAL system)-and it does! It allows you to change systems, so it will play anywhere in the world (in theory). The material is the best I've ever seen-amazing audiences, so consisting of scandanavian children enjoying his performances.....wonderful! So pleased I bought this, especially as he is my all-time favorite guitarist! Thanks!

フレディ・キングは日本では、その人相の問題からか、若くして亡くなったためか、あまり評価は上がらない。でも、初来日時に「えんきょ～っ！」と会場から掛け声のかかった故アルバート・コリンズよりは愛嬌があると思うのだが・・・・。　実際にギターの腕と歌声は、B.B.キングやアルバート・キングにもひけを取らないものがある。　このDVDはスイスのモントルージャズフェスでの演奏、スウェーデンのクラブでの演奏が収録されている。1973年と1974年の録画で、映像も音もそれなりに綺麗。亡くなったのが76年だが、元気で油の乗り切っていた時期だけに残念。　なお、これは珍しくアマゾンの表記どおりのリージョン１のDVDだ。
