yes it works well. I take painting classes and this holds an array of stuff my students need . Not just canvasses and birch panels but a jam jar, wet palette , two or three reference books, a couple of files, brushes, paints and a sketch book as well plus odds and ends. Then off I go carrying my light weight bag . It is as near perfect as can be . My pal the art bag .

I have not opened it yet as it is a Christmas present for me, (good job it's not a surprise !)But, I have had one like this before and if this is as good it will be great.

Both straps tore off, i repaired them, the sides ripped, i repaired them, the clips snapped i replaced them, the bottom fell out, i sewed them, the zips fell off, i replaced them.. looks nice but falls apart daily after a few hours
