I received a Lamodahome chess set for Christmas this morning from my daughter. When I lifted the top of the chess board to access the chess pieces inside the chess board, I was immediately hit with a strong chemical odor that actually burned my eyes. Each chess piece was individually placed into a foam like lining with cutouts for the individual pieces. I’m not sure if it was the lining itself or the glue used to hold it in but wherever it came from it was potent. However, just to be fair, I left the board open so the chemical odor might dissipate; it did not. The set was shipped from Istanbul, Turkey tied up in some kind of foam wrapping; it wasn’t even shipped in a shipping box! My daughter immediately arranged an RMA via Amazon, who are always very accommodating regarding legitimate returns. I strongly do not recommend this product.
