Wow, Kerry Barnes you've done it again, you had me on the edge of my seat from the first page, what a brilliant written well-researched book.The story revolves around Mitchell swan who has just been released from prison for armed robbery after 8 years and Eden a poor little girl who lives with her father and mother. Her father is a vile sadistic man who rules them with a rod of iron, he is an elder with Jehovahs witnesses and sticks firmly to their rules but takes it a lot further.Mitchell is married to loud-mouth tarty Gina and has 3 sons by her, 2 of whom are violent trouble makers and one who is nothing like them he is gentle and kind.It was Gina's father Donald who put him in prison, he is a man with no morals.The story has everything you want for a good crime book and more. Kerry Barnes really knows how to draw you in and her characters are so believable you feel you are living the story with them. I didn't want the book to end but boy what an ending.Worth 5 stars and many may more.Kerry Barnes gets better and better with each book.

Omg, this book has left me emotional and I didn't want it to end!!!The twists and turns, your wanting the best for the main characters and those that are awful to get their come uppance.Kerry never fails to disappoint and all of her books have been fantastic.So get reading, be prepared for very late night's as you won't want to stop reading it!

I loved the story line and especially the location it was set as I knew all the places the author wrote about as I was born in Orpington myself I would love to know what part of South east London Kerry the author came from as I used to play over Poverest recreation ground all the time as a child. And also knew St Mary Cray very well as I went to secondary school there. The whole book was a very enjoyable read and I have read this authors other books which I also enjoyed but obviously this peaked my interest more on a personal level because of the location. The characters were all very believable. I will be reading more of Kerry Barnes in the future
